Straight line the SLK32 will win.
Around the track, the M3 might edge out the SLK32, and the Manual transmission in M3 will give it an edge in controllability.

It depends on the track AND driver. The SLK is quite a capable car especially in the right hands. I have found that mine will easily pull and M3 in acceleration. The SLK is not as inferior as some magazines might lead you to believe when compared to the M3.
So perhaps you could define what type of competition you are talking about. In 0-60 times and 1/4 mile the SLK will spank a stock M3. Also the automatic is not quite the handicap people might think. The SLK will lock up each gear just like a manual so you get the directness of a manual in most situations.

The temperature is as you can see 10 degrees higher during the test with the M3. Maybe that made the difference?

my sister has a SLK32 and my brother has a 2003 SMG M3
and so far all the times they would race my sister would win. I was riding with my sister and we had a rolling start and we probably won about 1 car length.
So my answer: SLK32 on a straight away
M3 on the track.
