Just bought one, good deal?

Just got the following car. For about 38 grand, seems like a pretty good deal. Inspections come back very clean and still has 4year 50k mile warranty. Currently has around 12 thousand miles on it. Just wondering how you all think I did?

Hey Thanks a bunch. By the way, seeing YOUR car choice, have you thought much about SLK32AMG depreciation, considering the new body style coming out later this year?

Hey, looks good and a good price too. Enjoy it.

The SLK32 depreciation rate is actually pretty good - not too many cars depreciate less on a percentage basis and there are many that depreciate faster. For example, the SC430 and the LS430 same year, same mileage depreciate at pretty much the same rate. The new body style most likely will have no real affect on the depreciation rate.

Good insight. ALthough, I'm sure the 2005 SLK will deffintely hit depreciation. Side by side, the current generation definitely looks more boxy.

Yes the R171 will depreciate and probably at about the same rate - the only thing that could slow it down in the first year would be a very long wait list, but don't count on it affecting the rate much.

I'm in the 30% that thinks the R171 does not look as good as the R170 - at least according the US AMG marketing guy. But I wonder if the 70% is based on photos which make the car look a little sleeker than it is has something to do with that. I think the nose needs a slight mod so the 3 point doesn't have that over hang lip. The dash (especially around the HU) is a bit busy. Like the dual exhaust, the seats are ok. We'll see if they do a face lift. But that's just me

Good points, I do like the current front end better. We'll see what MB does with the new nose!? My thoughts are that the
depreciation could be greatly delayed, since the AMG V8, won't be out until much later next year. We'll see.

Regarding performance, I've driven a friend's before and as you all know it's astounding. Don't yet have mine, still getting inspections etc..
