2004 Audi S4
For all the slk55 amg owners!! Thanks in advance.

I am new to this forum as I have always been an Audi member in Audiworld. I have owned a 2002 B5 S4 and now currently own the 2004 B6 S4. The car is probably the most practical/good looking/fast car, at least for me. However, this slk55 amg is a car I just could not resist the first time I saw it on TV, haven't seen it yet in person.
Now I am seriously considering changing cars. I haven't looked at the Porsche Carrera or Cayman, even though some advise me to do so. Have anyone on here made that decision?
The only thing holding me back is the practical aspect of this car. Seems like a great weekend/summer/leisure car. Can this car be driven safely/well in the rain and snow? How is the ride? How comfortable is this car? I know that these questions can be answered with a test drive; however, have not been able to, seems like there aren't alot of them.
I live in the Northeast, NJ and MA so I guess that is a factor also.

Thanks

SLK 55 2005
I live in DC and as soon as there is any snow the car is USELESS! Maybe if you change your tires you might have better luck.
It does not handle great in the rain either.

silk32, installing a set of winter tires on the slk230, will cure all the winter problems. the car will perform like most any front wheel drive car. it is amazing what proper tires for given situations will do.

SLK 230
Snow...

Well if it is snowing that heavily a sports car is going to be a no no. I drove my slk 230 when it snowed a little here and it drove just like any other car and i didn't see any problem. If anything with the bigger tyres I felt a bit safer as i had more contact with the road. When light snow falls it becomes driver skill as well that the car. But if you are expecting many inches of snow here in the UK we are advised to stay inside lol. If it continues over many months then a 4x4 would be adviseable.

snow tires or no snow tires. driving with out a 4x4/wheel drive/front wheel drive in 1ft of snow you will have problemos..

SLK or not?

One thing not mentioned is that because of the retractable top, this car has NONE of the disadvantages of a convertible- top slashers, weather protection, noise, and especially visibility. I traded in a C5 Vette. The car was almost useless with the top up, because of the terrible visibility. The Porsches are no better. With the top up, the car is a little speed capsule. With the top down- Ahhh...
The car is great- you will not be sorry!
