How much were you charged for pre delivery?
Received invoice for SLK55 today and nearly fell over with the almost $3000 pre delivery charge?https://mbworld.org/forums/newthread...ewthread&f=66#

It is also referred to as dealer or delivery charges...it includes a car wash and probably a safety check where they count the wheels and make sure the oil cap is on.
I think it is reasonable to charge for doing those things, but the amount seems extravagant...I don't think this is peculiar to mercedes..I think all dealers do it.

I think the dealer is just charging you over sticker and calling it a pre-delivery charge. Dealers don't have to charge anything called a pre-delivery charge as all the prep is in the sticker price of the car. I have never been charged a pre-delivery charge, and I've bought many new cars. I would tell them that you won't pay any so-called pre-delivery charge.

I've received a worksheet outlining the expected costs for my car. The delivery charge is 755 and the gas guzzler is 1300. Other than that, the charges for base and options are inline with what I expected.
Dealer even broke out TTL for me, which I've never seen one do before. All of the associated fees are in-line with what I'd expect to pay.
Sounds to me you need to call your stealership and remind them that you can order this car from any dealer.
