Kleemann Chip Tomorrow

Will be dropping off the SLK55 at a Kleemann dealer tomorrow only for chip tuning.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

If the dyno after isn't satisfactory, do you still have to pay?

I'm going to guess a baseline of 290 RWHP & a subsequent (post ECU install) of 308 RWHP.

See ya,

When I did my Renntech tuning for $1300, they included a before and after dyno.. Amazing to see the difference..

As the 55 is a naturally aspirated engine don't expect too much hp gain from chip alone. It will change the dynamics of the engine performance. I did the Renntech chip, headers and carbon graphite intake. The rwhp went from 295 to about 320.

I'll take pics once the HRE's come in. Give or take about 2 or 3 weeks.
The tuner is Macedo Motorsports
www.macedomotorsports.com

While I was there, there were some SICK Viper's!!

Results early next week, I'll keep you all posted.

Also, when the results come back, they will include ECU, Thermotec, and Green Filters.

Hopefully I'll push 2 or 3 more ponnies than ECU alone

Finally picked up the car. No Before or After Dyno!
The excuse I got was "You wanted the car in and out so fast we didn't have time for a Dyno"

I doubt I will be doing any more Kleemann upgrades with these guys (Macedo Motorsports). Chris Chappas at C2 Design will get my business from now on even though he's in Tampa.

Impressions:
I can feel the throttle response has improved and the car is pushing a few more ponies. Tonight I will put on some more thermotec under the airboxes to cover the un-covered spots and hopefully that will help with colder air intake.

Aside that, I will give the track at Orlando Speed World a visit and see If i can do better than my 12.725 back in Feb. http://www.dragtimes.com/Mercedes-Be...slip-5170.html

That doesn't make sense? "You wanted the car in and out so fast we didn't have time for a Dyno"?? What the? Did you tell and specify to them you wanted a before and after dyno before you dropped your car off? I mean i know you "felt" more ponies but how can you really tell you paid for what you get? In any case hopefully you really get the full potential of the ECU.

That is another thing that bothered me for some time. I dropped off the car mid-day Friday. The ECU was sent out that day. Today the received the ECU. And yes, I did specify that I wanted a after-dyno, but because they didn't abide that request I see no reason to go back there.

When I find time in the next week or two, I will drive to Tampa to get my pullies installed by C2 design (Evosport underdrive pullies) and will have Chris Chappas take a before duno which I will compare with another member's SLK55's here who had a stock dyno done. And of course a after-dyno with the pullies. *Sorry for the long run-on sentence.

But again, hopefully I'll see some results this friday at the track even though it is still hot here in Florida! I will post a vid!

You can have just pulled the ECU yourself (very easy) and overnighted it to Kleemann USA in Colorado. They could have send it back to you the very next day.

I think it helps. I promissed another member some pics of the set up last week... but I'll post the pics on the board today or tomorrow.

Very easy to do.
