Dilemma....help! (Wheels)

I just don't know what to do.
I will track my car next season (I'm in NE Ohio) when is warmer. I have 030 package that have the 2-piece 18" wheels.
Now here is the problem: I want to have a dedicated set of wheels and track tires and don't know what to do.
Should I:
a) Buy aftermarket 19" wheels to use them with the track tires?
b) Buy aftermarket 19" wheels to use them for daily driving and use the current AMG 2-piece wheels for track (since there are more tire choice for 18")?

Can enyone enlight me?

Can anyone make a comparo using Weight and price using Reentech Monolites, Kleemman T-6 and HRE's (I like the ones Dinko has)? (all in 19's) (forget about tires...just wheels)

Does anyone have any idea how much the 2-piece AMG wheels from the 030 package weight?

Thanks for all the help and input!

JMC

PS: Should I even enquire about bying 19" SL65 2-piece style wheels and use them as daily drivers and use the current ones as track wheels? I don't even know if the 65 series wheels will even fit with spacers etc.

HRE Comp's are the lightest, they'll be a great performance factor on the track. Get in touch with Peter @ wheelexperts, and don't forget to let him know who sent you. Ask for the same deal he gave me

So in your opinion I should buy the 19" HRE's for the track, right?
Are your HRE's "Comp's"? (sorry, I don't know much about wheels....but shure love your wheels!)

How much do they weight?

The AMG wheels are going to be a bit heavy. Certainly go with a lightweight but strong wheel for the track. Complete Custom Wheels makes some truly excellent wheels for a far lower cost than the HREs, and they look great too. =)

Right now they don't have a fitment for the SLK55, but they're working on it right now to get me a set of wheels for mine.

DCR's, they are very light, 25lbs for 19x8.5 and 27lbs for 19x10, supposely the same technology as HRE's, so I assume they are just as strong. Should get mine pretty soon. www.dcrwheels.com

Just my $0.02, even for track use, I would still go with 18s. I also like the HRE Competition Series, try Neal (Euroteck) or Peter Lee (WheelExperts).

I agree about the 18" for track. I plan to use the OEM wheels with competition tires for the track and get some Aftermarket 19" for use on the road. I know there are better, lighter wheels for the track but I'm not a F1 driver. Besides, I think tires and driver ability will by far be the most opportunisitic areas.

I'm buying 19" wheels more for style, so I want them on as much as possible. Who needs bling on the track?

Damn, those are light, but comp wheels are not made to last, especially if you track it, they are for the occasional track day. (Don't blame me, I'm just a messenger, jmejones said it ) HRE's will cost twice if not three times the price of other custom forged wheels. I couldn't justify the cost for just looks.

18" for tracking, if you are an avid autoXer, I'll keep the original 18" AMG and get stickier tires. Get some aftermarket 19"s for show and the wow factor on the road. Plus who would want to roll around with the same exact wheels as everybody else.
