does anyone of you own HRE rims for their SLK55? I was looking into the HRE 841R, however, my buddies said that HRE cracks very very often.

what's your experience with em?

Who are your 'buddies'?
HRE's are very nice wheels, and their Competition series is even sweeter.
You can ask Dinko or Vic55, they both have HRE Competition series rims.

Yeah, regular HRE's aren't allowed on some tracks/events from what I've read which is why HRE created the Competition series. They are meant for track use.

I believe, ALL HRE's can have the black finish and the polished lip for an additional price.
You'll be better off getting price requests for the types of wheels you want from neal@euroteckmotorsports.com or sales@evosport.com

Brabus Monolock VI, multi-pieced
the thing is, i'm trying to find a rim-brand that makes similar rims to the Brabus Monolock VI Multi-pieced... they look amazing. The problem is, tho, that they want $1,300 per rim which I'm not willing to pay for Brabus... it's all the name. Any ideas?

Brabus wheels are also heavy. What are your priorities in a wheel?
Is it the name? Or is it performance or strength or what?

HRE will be as expensive, or more than Brabus.

$1300 for brabus? I'm not really sure about brabus wheels pricing in the US, but in Asia my family, we are using Brabus rims from Mono block 3-6 for C, CLK, E and SL and they are not as expensive as the price you have gotten. Well may be there are different price qoutes for different region??????
Hmm....but if you think about is about 5000+ is still its cheaper than 841R right?

I'm also getting 841R in black for my silver 55 too, but I guess I will put them on after all the salt and slushes is gone.

u can order any style w/ any finish u want.
hre wheels r custom made for every order and require a 6-8 week wait.
they are more expensive than brabus wheels, but worth it.

check out my car in the clk amg pic thread if u'd like, ive got black 547r's (i like the rivets)

my cousin has a set of brabus 6 knockoff's and real monoblock 5's 2 piece w/ a black center, if u are interested pm me.

i never heard about hre's breaking at the track , good to know

I have the Brabus official PDF from Brabus of North America, and if he's talking about Multi-piece Monoblock VI's, yeah they are 1295$ MSRP lowest price for a set of 18's.

But then again, no one pays MSRP in this business. neal@euroteckmotorsports.com could easily get a few hundred off on a set of Brabus Monoblock. I should know, I created a sale for Brabus rims a few months ago when I worked for Euroteck Motorsports.

HRE's will be around $5500, give or take some. I just did some quick math on some 840R's in 19x8.5F 19x9.5R.

If I do some Brabus Monoblock VI's in the same size, you're looking at around $5700 or so once again, give or take a bit.
