Adam also
Regarding getting 20 buy ins ... thats quite high you might want to lower your expectations as well as the provider. Just watching the group buys for the E55 makes me think this number is too high. Lets face it there are less SLK55s than E55s out there.
Try also posting on SLKworld.com and the other boards. Not everyone only looks at this forum.
Also its not just SLK55's that can use this part. All SLK's can use this part. There are a lot of foreign SLK's that are looking for performance products but due to pricing ... have either chosen the 350 or 280.

Our hood is now pretty much ready and we can start accepting orders. Price is $1,749. It is an excact copy of the factory hood and fits just like the stock hood but weighs about 12-15lbs. I also have a front bumper replacement for the SLK which is a copy of the AMG Black Series front bumper with the carbon fiber vents on the side. It is absolutely incredible looking in person. We had one installed on an SLK55 and the carbon fiber vents look sweet! Price on that will be $1,200. I will have pictures of it on our own SLK55 soon, but in case some of you do not know what i mean it looks like this bumper
We may start on an add on front lip in carbon fiber soon, but i thought we would be different and just do the black series front bumper first.

It can be painted if you desire. Depends on the color of your car, or even the type of look you are going for. The carbon fiber hoods and trunks we sell for the E55, some people paint them, some people leave it CF. I think a custom painted job is also cool where the paint slowly blends into the CF, this way the sides of the hood match the sides of the fenders.

On a smaller car like this -- the vents look even better than the ones on the SL65!
I'm diggin' the front bumper, I need to find a R171 soon. I think the black series is just not a 'feasible' car -- you lose the ability to drop the top. That's one of the reasons why the SLK is such a perfect package (next to the R230 that is )

Don't worry about it, your not getting the Black series anyhow! I'm with you as I'm in tx at the mo, but if I was in seattle or germany the drop top becomes less important instantly and the Black series would be much better suited to Nurmburgring.
