X Pipe or Straight s/s ?
hi. happy new year.
Im gonna delete resonator but I wanna ask you guys. After removing resonator should I put straight s/s or x-pipe?
which one is good for my 2006 slk55 ? Im really confusing right now cause some people said straight is better and other people said x-pipe is better.
I am considering not only sound but also little performance too. Even putting x-pipe or straight s/s instead of resonator does not change any big performances. I want to increase sound but don't want loose any power.
please somebody explain this~~~

Looking for a new toy.
I can't speak specifically to the SLK55, but for previous V8 cars I've owned and modified (Mustang, F-body) an X-pipe (or H-pipe) was preferred to just straight pipes for a couple reasons:
1. Improved exhaust scavanging slightly with both pipes being connected at the "X" (or "H").
2. Improved sound quality by reducing raspiness somewhat.
Supersprint is supposedly making an X-pipe for the '55, but I haven't seen any posts about anyone actually having it yet on any of the MB boards.

Oh! sorry guys. It was on benzworld.org
http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w210...ghlight=x+pipe
The guy looks like he strongly recomend x pipe their e55.
e55 has a supercharged engine but our slk55 is n/a engine. I dont have any knowledge about that which is good for our n/a slk55.
I looked inside slk55's resonator. It was straight pipe.

SLK 55 AMG
From some rumors I hear, the X pipes should increase power a little, whilst straights might drop it... but we all know the SLK's headers and exhaust system is quite restrictive (changing them to Kleemann's or similar frees up anywhere from 30-50hp depending on if you go supercharged or not).
But what I wanna know, is if it's an X pipe inside the resonator itself? Anyone know?
