Gettin' ready for track....

Hey guys,

Couple of pictures of Jesse's Renntech supercharged SLK 55. We swapped out the Carlsson 19s UL for the Renntech 18 Monolite 10s.

Yes, its an M5.

Please enjoy!

I didn't even see you take those pics ...

Key is going to be the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires.

Still not getting enough traction for a hard launch though ...

Tony took those pictures!!!

Yeah, couple of E55s are probably going to join us with different track setups too. Maybe we can get good data on different tires.

Thanks to Renntech/EuroElites

I need to give a thanks to Hartmut,Ken and EUROELITES ...

As most of you know I had 19inch Renntechs all around and while they fit with no rubbing ... the rear offset was a bit off. It cosmetically seemed to sit a little too deep and wasn't flush with the fendors the way I like it.

Well after 6 months ... Renntech took back the 19's and sent me a fresh set of 18s instead. I choose 18's instead so I could get a wider range of tires.

THIS IS CALLED AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE.

To those that have complaints about Renntech CS I have to tell you that in my opinion there must not be a clear line of communication. Otherwise you wouldn't have a problem.

Other ways in which Renntech continues to prove to me they have great CS :

I constantly am asking for different octane programs ... they just keep sending them to me (ex. I want a 91 ... I want a 95, I want a 100)
I had a shredding belt (My fault, was running really hard and hot and didn't let it cool down) ... they sent me 2 new ones.
I call Ken's cell ... he answers immediately or calls me back if I leave a VM.
I call HQ and get transferred to Hartmut immediately ... no problems at all.
I ask for something new (keeping that quiet) and they start working on it.
I ask for a part and it is sent out immediately.
1 rim came scratched due to poor packaging ... they sent another immediately and fired the guy packaging the rim.

Ways EUROELITES has amazing CS:
I can call at 11pm and get answers
They open for me when its convenient for me.
They delivered rims to Smythe for me when I got a flat.
They picked up my old set from Smythe for me.
They give honest pricing and don't gauge me.
They drop me off at my house when I need to leave my car with them.
They pick me up or drop off my car for me.
They get me pricing on what I want immediately.
Carlsson has crappy chrome bolts ... EUROELITES stocked extra for me just in case.
They store my other set of rims and extra parts so it doesn't need to sit in my garage.

A big part of great customer service is a companies willingness to interact closely with their customers. I see Renntech doing that. Another HUGE part of customer service is the layer between customer and vendor. THis is where EUROELITES has been invaluable to Renntech and to Renntech's customers in the bay area.

Jesse,

What's the wheels for? Is it solely for the 1/4 mile or do you also go road courses?

Jesse,

Your SLK is stunning and I respect you for going for an 18" wheel, Its lighter and you arent limited interms of tires. Hope you have fun and if you or Adam could tell me how much does the Carlsson Lip spoiler cost as I am between the Carlsson and the Kleemann lip still thinking which would look better on my car.

Thank you in advance.

DSB,

Its for both ... 1/4 mile and track. I just need to find the time. For 1/4 mile at least now I can go to straight drag slicks when I want to. I'm going to test out the next lvl of tire after I use up these Pilot Sport Cups. Any recommendations? I don't really care about treadwear or how often I need to change the tires.
For rainy season I"ll just throw on the the carlsson's.

Alroumi,

Wait for the Carbon Fiber one from Neal. I'm very eager to see it and will almost definitely be switching to it when it comes out. But if you don't like Neal's I think its a tough pick between the Kleemann and Carlsson lip. For obvious reason's I decided against the Kleemann.

Hey bro, I'm going to be totally honest

I like your RENNtech wheels more than the Carlsson Ultra lights.

The smaller diameter + more flat face suit the car a lot more.

Jesse,

I appreciate that your busy and find it difficult to get out on the track. However, I gotta believe a weekend event is easier to attend than on a Wednesday.

That being said, why don't you get out there with me on Sunday, June 3rd.
https://www.nasaproracing.com/nasa_e.../?event_id=465

$40 annual membership, $159 for the event. It's well worth it.

Either way, I'd like to see your car perform. Let me know if you can attend Thunderhill or when you plan to attend Sac Raceway next.
