Why is it so freakin hard to find wheels for this car?
MBWorld noob here with a question on wheels. I have an 06 SLK55 and I have a hard freakin time finding wheels that will fit my car that won't require spacers. I went to three different sources for wheels and they all told me the same thing: the huge brakes and offset are making it impossible. Im lookin for a black 5 spoke or mesh look. I'm thinking about just powdercoating my stock wheels since I can't find anything I like that will fit. Any suggestions on possible wheels that would work? Or know of any SoCal places that do a good job of powdercoating?
Thanks.
Thanks.

custom or Renntech
Renntech rims do not require spacers either. Plenty of vendors that make custom rims so you wont have this problem.

It is actually fairly easy to find wheels for SLK55. If you got some $$$ to spend, HRE or Iforged will make you custom wheels at approximately $1,000 per wheel that will be specifically made for your car. If you're on a budget, just type "SLK wheels" into ebay motors and you got over 100 matches for cheap wheels. As a general rule, most wheel that fit CLK55 and C55, will also fit SLK55.

My 2 cents...you are driving an AMG Benz - it's wise to invest in good rim/tire technology (you don't want to be wearing a Ralph Lauren shirt with overalls - in other words, get what you want). Later!

G55 & SLK55
There are many out there, DPE, HRE, DCR, 360forged. The problem is that all of them might be out of your budget by a bit, if you want to lower cost you can get them done in 18 and use the tires that you have now.

The brake caliper thickness and the offset of a multi piece wheel are not related. Its only for single piece wheels. Anyway, stick with a good brand like Lorinser, Kleemann, Renntech, HRE, DPE, etc... and get good wheels that are made to fit. You might spend more money, but its worth it, especially on a higher end car.
