my05 slk release dates and info
mb has just realeased this information regarding my05 slk350 release dates. production will begin in august for the first customer orders, dealers will be given an iridium silver/charcoal leather car for dealer demo only not to be sold before oct 31. also dealers will be given 1launch edition (key to the cure) car that will be pewter with brown leather. that car will be available for retail sale as soon as mb announces official release date as of now it is 1st week of september. also july 16th distribution will release aug/sept production numbers. aug 11th distribution will assign dealers demos. aug 16th distribution will release oct production numbers. official release date will be 1st week of september. as of today there is no official word on the release dates for the slk55.

No big secret info actually :-)
I had inquired with Mercedes-Benz USA (800-4mercedes I think) a few days ago who said they'd call me back. I wasn't really counting on it, but they did today, very nicely with lots of info on the options etc. (though most we know by now), and the official release date of November 4th for the 55.

Sorry by the way, trust me, I would have liked it earlier as well.
By the way, they were really good on the phone. A few minutes into it, they said 'oh, I notice you have an order in already via netstar' - so they checked on my name while we were talking ;-) wow.
