Volvo V90 CC
Hard to compare, in my experience Corvettes are a POS when it comes to build quality and parts used.
Nice looking car, great performer, and eye catching, that for sure yes !

The trap speed through the quarter is a good indication of horsepower... His trap speed is about where C32s are (349hp), hence it's the old E55...

I think it looks pretty cool & a 427 is a hot powerplant. It would certainly help justify me spending some cash on a blower for the wife's SLK55

Cars are getting so fast nowdays. I'm wondering if the Govt. is going to start stepping in if people start wrecking more of these high speed cars (I hope not - it would be like Japan's 280 Hp limit

Shouldn't that car have a spread eagle decal on the hood and flames on the doors.

No Autospies only had two concept photos of what the car might look like... Apparently it's not going to be called the Z06 either.....

Finality, The Porsche Turbo will be more classy, the z06 if you want raw brute power, with no recognition, as i can see that your location is Dubai, the Porsche will suit you better, I heard that german cars are more respected there.....
as for me, i'll get the Porsche if iam I was in your place!

I agree but if I wanted a real poser car I would pickup a 355. I am looking for a good mix of performance and myabe prestige. Its just that a stock turbo is ~3450 pounds with 420 bhp. The Z06 should be 3000 pounds with 460 bhp (regardless of official figures chevy always fudges the numbers) plus it looks sleek.
I briefly looked at the M5 but after playing some more with iDrive and looking at the sheet metal I find it hard not to barf everytime I look at it. The numbers do look amazing though 100-200 km/h faster than an Murchielago?
The maitanence costs on a Porsche will be a nightmare (I'm already having palpitations of replacing the TT engine if it blows).
Besides the Turbo is a bit outdated now but I am still leaning towards the Porsche.

Judging by your location, you probably haven't had the opportunity to drive a Vette, let alone Z06... These things are phenomenal around the curves and very confidence inspiring... You're probably thinking of the F-body Camaros/Firebirds and Mustangs, which are only good for leaving long tire marks at the traffic lights...

Is the corvette made of plastic or fiber glass. I thought it was made out of fiver glass. You know if they put carbon fiber on this car it would be worth about $150,00 to $300,00 (guessing on the range), and if it was made out of alloy steal it would be about $85,000 to $150,00 (guessing on range). Plus, you don't get much respect in that car as you do in a german car, but I will say this, that is a nice looking car. I would rather have the SLK 55 AMG. I saw one in red and it just did not make we look twice, it wasn;t as bad *** as the black one in the picture. I would never race in this car because if i crash into a small, light weight object such as a trashcan, the trashcan will probably cause a $10,000 damage to the car. If it was the SLK 55 AMG, probably $300 to $3000

First of all, the fiberglass would suffer less, not more damage by your trashcan illustration. The Corvette body panels might suffer a scratch, but the panel would probably simply push back into proper place or never mend to begin with.
Lighterweight and more flexibility is not a bad design concept - it works for mulit-million dollar racecars, after all. (Only old tech NASCAR uses metal on racecars - the advanced tech cars ALL use carbon fiber and "plastics," if you will.)
Finally, your position on the expense of repair couldn't be further from any scope of reality. Body repair on any AMG costs $$$ to even think about it. The Corvette would suffer less damage and the bill to repair would be much less than with the AMG.
The arguments for comparision between these cars SHOULD be limited to:
Prestiege.
Resale Value.
Versitility (like a power hardtop convertible for the MB)
Price/overall value
Performance.
The target buyers here are typically different.
SLK buyers will be factoring more than mere performance to justify the pricier car.
Corvette buyers care about how much "go-fast" they can get for the lowest price.
Again, these are typical buying patterns for these cars.
There will always be Corvette buyers that are less interested in strict performance and cherish Corvette's head-up display, razor-sharp handling, custom personalized gauging, available adjustable suspension characteristics (like varible, liquid-filled magnetic adjusting shocks), great (non-gas guzzler tax) everyday, refined driving car.
And, there will always be the infrequent SLK55 owner who will spend almost half the price of the car to have some MB tuner make a borderline racecar out of their otherwise moderately purposed roadster.
Both cars have their market, which may not necessarily be the same.
