I read somewhere that AMG will porduce 1000 cars per class per year. (i.e. 1000 slk AMG, 1000 clk AMG, 1000 E class AMG ect...) Which means the SLK AMG is a rare vehicle. I think thats one of the best part of owning the SLK AMG. Rare can be beautiful. The only thing that burns me up is that MERCEDES is transfering all the SLK AMG parts to the CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE, even the engine is handcrafted by AMG. If this contiues the car will no longer remain rare and that sucks.

You are upset that the Crossfire (a fugly looking car) uses the old AMG supercharged V6 powerplant & that this will somehow impact the exclusivity of your SLK55? They are different cars & do not canibalize either revenue or exclusivity of either vehicle. I don't see what the big deal is.

Yes, it is true that AMG only makes a small number of AMG cars. They are hand built and this is why you cannot order them from a factory. AMG decides what the colors and options should be put in the car. Don't worry, they always pick the right stuff, they did a really nice job on my SLK 55 AMG. So basicly AMGs are rare cars which are called LIMITED PRODUCTION CARS. That is why they are expensive and fast and nice and better than other cars even though a corvette is faster and half the price. Corvettes are crap, they are nice but do you ever hear a guy say, "I drive a cevorlet". No because if they did say that then people would think "Wow you are really cool now", so thats why they don't add the car companies name in there, but I say "I drive a Benz". People's eyes go BLING BLING. Then I tell them I have the SLK 55 AMG. That makes them go even more crazy. There will be about 300,000 SLK 350s but there will only be about 5,000 SLK 55 AMGs.

You stated earlier in another thread your age is 17 - there is no need to emphasize it with your posts. You also might want to quit worrying about what other people think regarding the vehicle you drive.

Lastly, please brush up on your grammar before hammering Corvette "prestige" (or GM for that matter). You are coming across as a rather obtuse youngster.

Geezus, 17 yrs old, a $70k SLK55, & an attitude = recipe for an accident. I hope things change for you, soon.

If I am wrong then correct me instead of telling me I am not right. Secondly, I realize that I have spelling errors in some of my posts. I am not writing an essay and you guys are not teachers. I am typing here, so I will hit the wrong key or hit it in the wrong order of time, but you guys can still read it. Stop complaining, you all are annoying. It is not like I practice spelling on a keyboard. I got better things to do and I take my time to put my info that I know on these forums to help others. If you think the C6 is better than the SLK 55 AMG, then get it. You don't need people on these forums to tell you what to do. I just don't like corvettes. I mentioned that corvettes are bad because they are made of cheap material. (Don't say I am wrong, I sat in the c5 and the middle console was made of plastic) <----That is cheap! Plus, look at the price of the SLK 55 AMG($61,000) and the Corvette C6 ($44,500). Even though the c6(400 hp) has about 50 hp more than the SLK 55 AMG (355 hp), the SLK 55 AMG is more of a valuable car. The SLK 350 ($45,500, 268 hp) is just the same price as the c6, but way less horsepower. Why are they the same price? Because Mercedes are better cars, they have a name, and they are just better. Not saying if you pull up in a c6 you won't get respect, you will just get some.

Stop arguing with me that the corvette c6 is a better car. If it was better than the SLK 55 AMG, then the price would be higher.

SLK55AMG,

The Vette, when optioned out similar to the SLK55, comes close to $60k so it is "close" in price when comparing apples to apples. Certainly not half. The Vette does look "cheaper" inside but both cars have tons of plastic all over. It's just that the M-B plastic looks and feels better. Also, the Vette has some type of carbon fiber flooring so I wouldn't say it is constructed cheaply. Don't get me wrong, I still like the 55 more but let's get the facts straight.
