Exclamation SLR- 4 million dollars

Rallye Motors(a mercedes dealer) claims they bought the first production SLR for 2.1 million dollars at an auction; and now have a buyer for it, who's wiling to pay 4 million dollars for the first SLR made.

And he'll be the first person back at the dealership in the service department to fix some complicated electrical system. I think its fair to say that you should never buy the first MY of a new Benz. But hey, if he has 2M to throw at a car, he probly could care less about quality issues.

They did put it up for display...
I was there a few weeks ago, it was on the showroom floor. VERY nice looking.

They also had a maybach there, I got to sit in it and everything :P
I don't think the maybach looks as opulent as a bentley or rolls on the inside or the outside.

same here, looked at the SLR there, then the salesman opened up the maybach 57, took a look inside.
The nubuck leather around the midsections of the interior is a very nice touch! I can't help feeling though, that the wood in the car just doesn't have the "exotic grain" that bentleys and RR have.
While I would probably take the maybach over a bentley or the previous RRs... I think I would still prefer the new RR Phantom to the Maybach.

I was pleased to see that the grey plastic trim ont he side+hood vents of the SL500/55/600, are now a very sturdy feeling metal on the SLR.

Also, I should be picking up my e55 AMG from Rallye this tuesday... can't wait. Black w/ charcoal interior.

Ha, me and my brother got to ride in a Maybach 57 in West Palm Beach right before christmas. That thing is HOTT everything is electric, it didnt have the crazy airplane seats but thats no big deal, it had the tv's radio, wireless headphones and the rear window curtain. I loved that car,... I would buy one in a heartbeat if I had 400k to blow on a car.
