Sneak Peek At Two Colors

Heres a sneak peek at two colors that will be offered only on the SLS. The first is one of the matte paint options, there will be two matte colors available (Allanite Grey and Sylvanite Grey) only on the SLS in the states. These pictures however are of a Euro spec E63, but to be honest its hard to tell its a matte finish (or which Grey it is for that matter) in the photos, except for the photos of the close up of the wheel. The second color is the illusive Alubeam, which essentially looks like you painted your car chrome. First seen on an ultra rare limited edition CL, its now on the paint list for the SLS...at a steep price I might add, rumored to be $10k for the paint alone. Hopefully a full list of colors and pictures of SLS's will appear here shortly.

My vote? Lets get some of the old retro colors back. From the old 300sl. I don't know about you, but personally im f***ing sick of all of these nothing colors. Lets see on a new SL you can get red, black, white, silver, grey, and a myriad of nothing colors (a grey-ish green-ish blue, or a blue-ish grey [you all know what I mean] etc....)

So true, so true. BTW, I like the Alubeam one. Are there any pictures of the color in real life (apart from the official CL presentation pictures)?

My salesman said the color is available on S65,CL65, and SL65 models right now, but it costs in the neighborhood of $10k for the paint alone. There is at least one SL65 somewhere, because it appeared in an episode of American Chopper when they were doing the AMG bike. The only reason it stood out was because when the American Chopper boys toured the AMG plant, they saw it and asked their tour guide if they could get that paint for their bike. The tour guide said yes no problem while he was on camera, but later in the build they claim to have run into some problems getting the paint and had to settle for another color lol. I found a screen cap of it.

Thanks for finding that, I totally missed the SLR with the Alubeam paint in the background the first time(very end when Paul Sr. is talking). Funny how it starts off with them in an S class tearing it up, but when the camera pans back its file footage of a CLK Black. Would have been funnier to see Mikey in the back of the CLK Black (carbon fiber tub no rear seats) flopping all around.
