An SL65 Black Series will completely annihilate an SLS.

It's also better looking, but unfortunately very uncomfortable according
to Top Gears Jeremy Clarkson.

+1

I love the hard edged aggressive look of the SL black.

Well I agree in the performance that the also will get pulled on.
If you look at the trap speed they seem so close also sls-126mph slamg-127mph
And the also gets to 100mph quicker so I think its a drivers race up to 150mph

SL BS is your weekend worrier, SLS is your everyday GT car, of course the BS as expected should beat it in terms of performance any way you look at it!!!

Other than very upper end pull, top speed and exclusivity in my opinion mainly due to price, the Black Series is similar to SLS in terms of performance.

The SLS pulls an average of 1G across various radii, and is around 10% lighter than the Black Series. The SLS has quicker gear shifts (SL65 has a torque converted 5 speed vs a dual clutch 7 speed on the SLS) and pulls a faster 1/4 mile.

The SLS has a quicker track time on the ring. I believe it was 7.40 as opposed to the Black Series 7.51. It has a stiffer space frame chassis than the unibody steel monocoque of the Black Series. Moreover, it is around 40% cheaper than the Black Series.

Also, the SLS braking distance is 98ft 60-0 as opposed to 105ft of the Black Series.

The SLS is a very tuned track GT car. The Black Series is also AMG's track carved niche, but is only as good as the SLS with an exorbitant price tag. Reading articles online, the SL65 Black Series shifts slowly, the steering and brakes are relatively numb. These parameters add to the handling coefficient of a track GT car, where I believe the SL65 Black Series lacks. Furthermore, the SLS has newer components (engine, chassis, transmission, suspension design), which I would imagine to get better with each release. I think the SLS is fantastic racing platform, which shall only get better. I read the SLS Black Series is around the 2013 time frame loosely based on the SLS GT3, which is 3000lbs. That shall make the handling only get more visceral, and yet the price tag is less than the SL65 Black Series.

Unless one's definition of performance is a pull from 150mph and top speed; the SLS should offer as much of a fulfilling racing experience and performance numbers if not more for a fraction of the cost.

Yes
One is a world class street brawler, the other is a 5th gen Viper abortion...

SL65 BS for straight lines, on a road course I think the SLS would have the edge.

Regardless of which is quicker, I would take the SLS over the SL65BS any day.

If my back would take it the Black would be the ultimate car to pose in. After all my no 1 priority is the look, and the SLS doesn't
quite do it for me.

I am sure that it is a completely different feel, too. 738ft-lbs is something remarkable.

SLS AMG Iridium Silver Red Interior
Sls is a better platform. The sl 65 black is a kick *** car and would win a drag race. I own a silver sls with red interior and in real life it looks way better than the sl 65 black or any other merc. Performance is stellar!! Only complaint is the wheels spin in the rain.

I couldn't agree with you more. The SLBS is too much of a good thing for my liking. The SLS OTOH is sheer elegance.

In the end I would choose the SLS roadster though!
