SLS AMG Black Arrived!
I went in for the S Class today and my dealer showed me this thing which just came in. I was skeptical about the added CF parts on the SLS since they didn't seem to compliment the car like the Aero Pack on the C Black, but after seeing it outside of pics and magazines I quickly realized pictures don't do this car justice. I'm surprised these aren't sold before arrival. You'd think they would be considering how limited they are but for those of you getting, one

Haha Jrcart I didn't pick it up. I'm trying to get a Euro Delivery order set up on the new S Class but saw this while I was at the dealer. I was a bit shocked to see it sitting there waiting for someone to buy it. I had initially thought these only came to a dealership if they had a buyer that ordered like you mentioned.
Anyhow, It's out there for anyone that missed their chance at ordering it I guess. I'm sure whoever buys it will be very happy like yourself. By the way, Congratulations!

If memory serves correctly they were asking 50K or 60K above but honestly if your friend is interested I can just PM you a good contact at the stealership if he wants it. I don't believe in all the over sticker hoopla myself but I guess due to the fact that it's rare, they can command it. Another guy bought a white one for almost 400K. Was yours the same?

I paid MSRP, I don't pay over MSRP for cars. I actually paid under MSRP becuase my dealer threw in the MB accessory car cover and tinted my windows for free.

Yup, I never paid above MSRP for any car even in a strong market. It's just a way to create artificial hype and in Los Angeles some people do end up paying slightly above but at $400K you have other options imo. More power to you if you pay above, cars depreciate, doesn't make sense. I'm sure if someone was serious and made an offer, management wouldn't refuse. Plus it's open to export, in my years buying Mercedes there was always a 1 year limit to exporting. That's why I don't deal with people on the floor, they have little to no control.
Off Topic - I'm considering going the SLS route. How do you find the car to be, now that you have it? I'm considering the GT because I rarely make it to the track and the BS seems to be a track only car. What do you think?

I was never a huge fan of the SLS until I drove one at the AMG Driving academy on a race track, then I was sold. It is a very balanced feeling car and it is so good it makes it very difficult to make a mistake. It makes an average driver a great driver. I had already ordered my SLS BS before having attended the Driving Academy and while I was excited about the idea of having an SLS BS on order I was not overy excited or anxious. I was truly excited after I spent a day on the race track in just a standard SLS and could only imagine how much better the BS version was going to be. The GT is a great car, I think you will be happy with it.
