Just out of curiosity how much do a set of these covers go for these days? Are they hard or impossible to find? Any aftermarket options? thanks in advance.
There's a place near me that manufactures replacement parts. I can see if they'll do a run of SLS engine covers. They won't be cheap, but they won't be originals like Sunline's. If there's enough interest, I'll look into it.
I agree with NewportSLS. IF you could find a set, expect to pay at a minimum $20-25k. I’m only aware of one set to come up for sale in the last 10 years.
This is the only aftermarket option I am aware of.
thanks for the replies guys.. I appreciate the knowledge and sharing it with me.. I figured they would be priced accordingly since I have not seen any hit the market in a very long time. As for the tuning empire stuff, the more I think about it the more I feel that If these are not the OEM panels that came originally on the optioned SLS. well then I would not be interested in them.. its been my experience that the aftermarket stuff will never be as good as the original. of course there are always exceptions but for this kind of money I think i would be safer with originals..
I managed to track down an OEM set ~6 years ago from a SLS owner who had retained the covers after he sold his car and paid him $10k (if I recall correctly). I even posted up the install pictures/process here (you could probably search my profile to find the thread).
You can also try begging the sellers of used SLSs with the CF covers to sell you the parts but I never got very far with that approach.

Thanks for letting us know but think seller has lost it, cost new was $6,400 so to ask $49,995 I doubt very much if any SLS owner would pay what amounts to 20% of the entire coupe. Believe they are no longer available from Mercedes but still an insane number.
The seller is definitely ignorant on the topic. No one will pay not even 1/2 of what he is asking.
When I researched the pricing of the Carbon Fiber engine covers at my local MB dealership price was $24K to 25K per set plus cost of installation. Few sets were left & those are now gone. I came to SLS ownership from 31 years of MB 300SL Roadster ownership experience. My special area of expertise was rare options. I will randomly select “factory fitted luggage option” as an example. In the late ‘80’s sets could be found for $1000-$1500-. By 2010 sets traded for $50K + !!!! Even today reproduction sets are available from $3500-$10,000 & fans of originality will search for years to find originals. Rare options are far rarer than the cars themselves. I am always looking!!!!!

Price will come down if there is no demand. Just wait until someone else makes one.
