G Class Forum (W460, W461, W463) - Change

Hi, I'm spend just about all my time in the G Class forum and would like to suggest we split the forum into 2: maintain the current forum for W460, W461 and W463, but move discussions on the new G-Class to a new forum (W463A or W464?).
Rationale:
  • The new G, although keeping the same W463 designation, is a totally new vehicle with different parts and components that don't relate to the old G
  • Two types of distinct and incompatible discussions are developing - 'fixing broken stuff on my old G to make use of it' vs. 'picking, waiting for, and cleaning/understanding my new G'
  • Along with that, we have two distinct types of users - people who want advice on updating/maintaining a classic, and people looking to make the most of all the new features
I think by splitting the forum we would encourage more discussions amongst the participants for both vehicles. Just a thought.

Hi,

Thank you for the suggestion. We will take a look at making this happen.

Agree and good suggestion. I enjoy learning about the new gen but it would be nice to have separated forums.

Hey everyone,

I apologize for the delay.

We are looking at the best way to re-organize the forum but should be able to break out the G class forum.

Thank you for your patience.

Bob

Hi everyone!

Please take a look at the new G W464 forum. Does that make sense?

Also, please report any threads you feel should be moved to this forum. Thank you!

Bob

How do you report a thread to be moved?

ALSO - sub-headings for the forums should be updated:

G-Class (W460, W461, W463)
1980-2018: 290 GD, 290 GDT, 300 GD, 350 GD, 500 GE, G250, G300, G300 DT, G320, G500, G55 AMG, G63 AMG

G-Class (W464)
2019-Present: G550, G63 AMG

Cheers!

Sorry, can we change the forum titles to the following for more accuracy? Even though it's an entirely new vehicle, M-B decided to keep the same designation W463. However, most customers seem to refer to it as W463A.

G-Class (W460, W461, W463)
1980-2018: 290 GD, 290 GDT, 300 GD, 350 GD, 500 GE, G250, G300, G300 DT, G320, G500, G550, G55 AMG, G63 AMG

G-Class (W463A)
2019-Present: G550, G63 AMG

Thanks Bob, looks good, but the new one should be "W463A".
Don't mean to be fussy, but some of the guys want the accuracy....
