Some of you have been asking me about E55K brakes on a w211. This is what I found:
Regarding fitment on w211:
I did a little research on these E55K brakes going onto a w211 car.
I searched the MBworld's w211 forum with search word "spindles"
It seems like the E55K calipers use an M14 bolt, and therefore the E55k spindles are made with 14mm holes. Mark Cummins said that one could drill the spindle from 12mm to 14mm or buy the E55k spindles. Personally I would get the E55k spindles so you can return your car to stock if you so desire.
Or at the very minimum, remove the spindles and have a machine shop enlarge the holes. If you do this with a drill and drill bit free hand, you will give too much slop. I would have the machine shop drill, and then ream to final size. That shouldnt take too long provided they can fixture the spindle. Any machinist with a bridgeport mill should be able to handle this task.
Like I have said before, the burdent of fitment and safe installation is totally on the buyer.

Yes The Spindles MUST be changed. Replace the spindles (Like I Did)
Or one could have them drilled on a Vertical Mill...(NOT a Hand Drill)

I've had a lot of interest, but without commitments.
I am now accepting offers at or around $1500.
so 1500 OBO terms, cash or moneyorder, no paypal unless you want to pay the fees.

Would it help if I included new front pads and some used rear pads?
Id like to move these, motivated seller here. I need some cash to buy the timing chain parts for my 500E, which are well over a grand....
I could also facilitate buying new E55k rotors if needed.
Thanks.

w210 E55, I am not sure on the fitment. I would consult your local dealer about that.
Buyer is responsible for fitment.
You need at least 18inch wheels, Im not sure if the stock E55 wheels would clear or not. Maybe you have a friend with an SL55 or E55K to check that problem first.

Im selling the F&R together, I really don't want to split them up.
Like I said, I have no idea on fitment, but I know you need at least 18s. They may not clear all 18s though...

If you are willing to do custom rotor/ hats and possibly mounting brackets, they would probably fit.
Remember if there is a will, there is a way! Might not be cheap or quick, but it could happen.
Ideally this is best on a w211 with E55 spindles or drilled holes. I had them on my w124 500E, but it requires a lot of work to do. Im going with a more appropriate upgrade on my 500E, non amg one....guess!

I was open to offers on the forum (as of the other day), but I wasn't really getting much response & follow-thru so I just put them on ebay today. I said $1500 firm, but someone still made me an offer. =) go figure!
I really was hoping for at least $1000, but I didnt want to bother with a counter-offer. Well I hope the sale will go through, but Ill wait for the money to be in my hands before officially saying they are sold. Thanks for looking, if it falls through I will let you know, but I doubt it the buyer seems pretty solid with about 200 feedbacks.

Joe, I was looking for a reasonable offer. $750 isnt bad, hopefully this guy comes through today. I wrote immediate paypal payment, but maybe he made the offer after work yesterday so Ill give him the benifit of the doubt and wait until 24 hours. Ill let you know if it falls through.
But yeah, I wanted a grand, that would be really reasonable, but I was just tired of waiting and that offer came in at $750 so I said fine.
we shall see, thanks for the emails.

I have been paid for them now. Where were all you guys a couple days ago willing to throw down some money? I said 1500 OBO! oh well. Someone else is selling a set out of canada though, maybe try him. I was really hoping for at least a grand, but a bird in the hand is like having two in the bush, so I took the offer.
