MHI Bluetooth interface group buy interest???
anyone here interested in doing a group buy discount for the MHI Bluetooth interface part # B6 787 5878? I think the price went up and now its around $450-500 msrp.
i need one and my friend who also needs one is going to ask some of his parts dept friends at the local dealerships if a group discount is possible. we have 5 local ones in norcal that he would be asking.
so i'm just trying to gauge interest so i can let him know how many people could be interested. if its doable... obviously the more people we get the more we save.
as far as payment goes, all payments would be paid to the dealership and i would not be handling any of the money. i would just manage and update the parties in the group buy and save money with the help of others!
so if you are interested, please let me know by posting here or pm'ing me the following...
1. make sure you are on the compatible list
http://www.wireless4mb.com/
2. on a scale of 1-10 with 1 being the lowest... how interested are you ... depending on the price of course. ex. i would be a 8

Interested - 8+. Did the source quote any prices based upon volume? If so, it may help to post. I have a quote from my dealer - about $350 IIRC.

getting it to work with the other features like syncing up with your phone book contacts is something that doesn't work with every phone.

as for where it goes, i only know where it goes for the w164 m class which is in the arm rest. best to check with your platform's section to make sure.
oh and pricing... i'm working on that, but need to know how many serious buyers we have.

Guys,
Once you have a group together, use the contact form on www.comandonline.co.uk - we buy significant amounts of the euro cradles, and can get our discounts on the US ones if we buy a reasonable quantity thus i'm sure we can supply lower than US dealer prices to mbworld members.
If someone could find out the actual MRSP in US that would be helpful to us in ensuring best pricing. (please PM me !)
The 'group' buy will help postage costs as-well, because sending single things is quite expensive from UK to USA.
Cheers
Richard

btw, i went to your url you posted and it showed the price of Our price: £299.00 save 15% which came out to 523.85 usd - 15% = 445.27
if my math is correct thats way too expensive. and that price doesn't even include the expensive shipping even if you do a pallet.
ebay sells them regularly in the 400 range new. i'm looking to obviously get it cheaper than that for myself and others.

update... there are only 2 dealers willing to do a group discount. one is at 425, and the other one is at 406. shipping not included. all the dealerships tell me the regular price is $493-500. plus tax
i am working with another non dealer vendor and the pricing for 30 buyers is to be around $370-385 shipped in the lower 48 states.
would the 370-385 shipped interest anyone?

sorry guys, but the discount doesn't seem to be worth it now as some of you guys suggested.
so, i'm stopping this group buy.

If the US retail is in fact $350 you should buy it in the US

Actually, that is the European SAP unit which is much more expensive (and advanced, it contains a complete phone) - the European equivalent to the US unit is called HFP and comes in a black case, not the shiny silver one, price £210 - BUT EU website prices include sales tax which doesnt get charged on stuff shipped out of Europe (ie to US). I was coming out at around $350 + shipping

Well, there has not been any price increases on ebay
There is a newer unit, that dos not require any cradles installed, just needs the TeleAid jack in you armrest. It comes with the pigtail attached and sells for something around $325-350 at ebay. If we could get those cheaper, I would be in.
