The E55 RC Car

I can't get enough of my E55, so I built an RC Car version of it.

It started life as a Tamiya TG10-Mk.1 body. Added custom parts from Tamiya's CLK-DTM, AMG wheels are from Tamiya's old C-Class AMG DTM, and decals are from various RC kits (HPI's S55, C32, and CLK).

Nice job, I have an HPI C32 body on order at my local hobby shop, it SHOULD be here sometime this week. I am terrible at airbrushing though, lol.

Thanks for the nice feedback. RC car building and miniture scale cars are a hobby from my youth, but I still enjoy it today. I also have a 1/18th scale E55 diecast model and a 1/24th scale E55 plastic model. I will post these later when I have some time.

The HPI C32 and S-Class RC bodies are very nice! I have both of them, as well as the CLK-DTM AMG Racer. But this E-Class body is quite rare and hard to find. I just happened to stumble on to it while visiting a hobby shop in Japan during a business trip. It's a Tamiya Touring Car Body Parts Set (A-type) for the 1/10th scale TG10-Mk.1 series, and should fit on most 1/10th scale RC cars. The part number is 50901, for those interested.

(BTW, I don't even let my 10 year old play with my E55 RC car. It would surely end up looking like the poor magma red E55 in another post.)
