kleeman suspension

I'm interested in upgrading suspension in my 01 e55 to kleemann. Thoughts? Anyone know any local performance shops in the baltimore/washington area?

Lowered mine about an inch . Performance of the Kleemann products is expensive but outstanting. Normal ride is far better than the Mercedes stock but when you want to be aggressive it will hold the road far better than you can hold on to your seat. (FUN!)

SoutherGent, I viewed your pics. Very Nice. Your car is the ultimate performance 'sleeper'.

I like the Mercedes engine covers on the supercharger much better than the 'Pepto Bismal' colored Kleemann one.

Update On my E430K Project! The stock 235/45-17's just couldn't handle the power. I now have the E55 stock AMG Aero II Monoblock's with 245/40-18's Front and 275/35-18's Rear. Also put on Toyo Proxes T1-S. It truly feels like glue on the road now. Also those that have E430's and feel like you float a bit on the Express Way, the combo of Kleeman's suspension and 18" wheels makes for a phenomenal ride now. Rock solid, straight as an arrow, no float, no bounce, no corrections needed...... on&on&on. Unbelievable.

How come not 19"s? Just curious?

Jam:

19 inch wheels are only for the brave and those who like to hunt and dodge potholes. I am not really convinced that 19's are better (performance wise) especially if they are not HRE's and are heavy like most 19's.

Southern Gent:

Did you roll the fenders for the E55 wheel/tire setup? I would get those fender lips rolled just in case. The E55 has this done at the factory.

Actually if you look at Vic's G-Tech using his 19"s he got some 0 - 60 of 4.8's or something close to those nos. So it helps a little bit. And since these are HRE's i'm using they are very light!

In my case the 18" wheels and tire sizes quoted are well within tolerance of the original so speedo, odometer etc. are within stock. The main reason for me is that I don't like my car "pimped" out. The AMG Monoblock's are Mercedes standard on the AMG E55 and not too far off from the standard E430 look-wise. I needed the grip with the Kleemann Supercharger but wanted to keep the Mercedes Class Look.
