Buyin an E55 99' need help
Hello all, quite new to the forums.
I own a 99' c230 highly modded.
i've just tested tonight a 99' e55, with 151 000km on the clock
i have to admit, what a beast !
he will let it go at 19 000$
i would like to know repair maintenance on that car , how reliable if i want to keep it for upcoming years ? since it has 151k km...
i know it's an amg..brake etc is more expensive but still, a small idea !
thanks for replies and help

99s are money pit.
Get a 2000 or newer

i don't know if they are a money pit or not, but
what i do know is it's very much worth it to get 2000+ model just for the better looking body kit/mirrors/interior.
gl though hope you find something nice

I would have to agree with the others. I love my 2000 (even though I really want a W211). And for that price and miles, I would dare say an 2000+ would be there for you.
good luck!

Too much money for that many miles. Plus I think it will cost you a lot to keep that running, maybe not right away, but certainly later. I agree with the other suggestions to buy a 2000+ (post-facelift) W210.

1999 E55
I like my 99. It has just over 60k miles, and I haven't had any major problems.
As for a 99 being a money pit compared to 2000-2003 W210's, well I do not see the logic, as they are mechanically the same car.

fairly reliable if properly maintained, but personally i'd try for 2000 yr+ for updated dash and exterior...the 1999's are not that much cheaper, but vastly inferior in those areas.

I think the price is too high.... sold mine more than a month ago for $21K (72K miles) but seeing you saying "km" instead of "miles", I'd suspect you're not from US (canada / europe? ). I know ROW's price is a bit higher than US.
