New to the forum with my 2001 E55 AMG
Hello!
Found this forum,seems like a great place with lot of eye candy
I'm from Sweden and Yesterday I bought a 2001 E55 AMG with only 60000 KM or 37300 miles on the meter. An older gentlemen in Germany born 1920
bought this car new in 2001 and didn't drive it so much. So I guess he didn't drove it like a 18 year old,hehe...
Going to get it on Saturday. It's a dream come through
GREAT condition, quite stock compared to some of the cars I've seen here, but I like the look on these when they are original.
I'm going to take better pics when I get the car, but until then I post the ones from the seller.

I bought one last week on ebay in Germany. It came today and according to the directions it should take less than 15 minutes to install. $300 USD delivered....

Welcome Swedish member! Those two tone seats are looking cool...especially on a car that will spend a lot of time in a snowy environment.
Someone here mentioned "ventilated seats"....I call them "fart extractors"...great idea for cooling a hot butt on a hot day in California...or anywhere else. I've never seen a W210 with those seats, or one with the single disc CD player in the dash.
Abalone....you may want to invest a few Euro's in the OEM Mercedes Sport pedals for your gas and brake pedals. The ones that come on the W211 E55 work on our cars too.
I even had a custom dead pedal made in Florida for my car that matches the OEM pedals, silver with the black dots on them. I've also installed the aluminum door sills from the E63 model that have the AMG logo on them. They fit nicely with some strong double stick tape.
Again, clean car and must be wonderful to drive in Europe. Its a rare car over there because of its huge 5.5 liter engine size...most cars in the EU are 2.0 liter or smaller....these AMG cars are total beasts over there! (and gasoline is not cheap for it either!)

There are actually a LOT of cars over here with bigger engines then 2,0 liter. Well many of the asian have smaller, but there are a lot of Volvo,Saab,MB,VW,Audi,and so on with big engines. Doesn't the american models come with smaller engines then the European due to more restrict pollution demands? (<< Is that the right word,hehe)

Most of us either have the basic am/fm tuner with hidden slot for cassette and a six (6) disc cd changer in trunk (this is what I have) and others have the command/navigation for a single cd slot.

Today I installed a single CD player like the one in your car. Took all of 10 mins. However the LCD is not illuminated at night
. Does yours light up? , and I also lost my steering wheels controls of the radio?
