been test driving lots of cars
had my e55 for a year now and this is when i usually itch for something new. i put up my car for sale locally and have had ppl call me up, and i've been testdriving others.. and it hit me like a truck, there's NOTHING that can touch the w210 e55 out there that can offer the same bang for buck, without costin 3x more.
i liked the cls55 amg but is it worth 3x-4x the money than my e55? i dont think so. now i'm leaning towards getting a lightweight 2nd car with a manual transmission as a garage mate, s2000, mini cooper S, or boxster. ultimately i want a porsche 911 turbo, but even then a 911tt cant replace the e55.
believe me, if i found something that i really liked, i wouldve gladly unloaded my e55 for dirt cheap. but there's really no comparison, i'm glad i pulled the trigger last yr on this car.

Pro, I feel same way you do! The 55 is the best bang for the buck! ITs my daily driver and everytime I think of changing cars and I drive the 55 I wanna keep her!
I am slowly looking at the 996tt as the ulitmate, but maybe a cayman s would suffice less dollars but lotsa fun

My buddy just picked up a 2000 996 cabriolet with 45K miles for 29K. I think that would be perfect garage mate for your E55. I drove it, nothing feels like a Porsche! But my good ol 55 has that Jeckle and Hide thing going on. Just depends on how far I push the pedal =)

I have owned a lot of new and used cars....some of the best of the best....and my wife currently owns an '06 987 Boxster....
Nothing beats the E55....the Boxster out handles it...(and almost every other vehicle on the road)....but the E55 is comfortable, fast, handles, gets decent gas mileage...if more people knew what this car delivers....it would be worth double the money.

true..for most of the day I was driving my pcar enjoying all the bumps and rattles etc..noticed it bigtime since I've been driving the MB all week. So later on tonight I switch to the E since I had to pick some folks up. So I'm at a traffic light which leads to the on ramp and I'm thinking I have to floor the pedal to get ahead of the crowd. Well I forgot what I was driving (for a min I thought I was in pcar) and floored it, well I scared the hell out of me...unbelievable...this car can be scary fast...
