Newbie, just bought an 02 E55
Hello all, i am a newbie with a question. Just wondering what i should be prepared for in the future with my car i just bought. I learn a lot from you guys everyday and i appreciate it.
I just bought a 2002 w210 E55 AMG for $22,500, 77k, black ext, ruby/black int, 12,000 mile warranty.
Great deal if you ask me, inspected perfectly, and getting ready for its "B" service.
Does any one know how much a "B" service runs??
I want to make sure everything is good with the car as i will be driving it quite a lot because of my work.
I absolutely love this car and its a big step up from my last one (w202 C230k)
I look forward to driving this car for a very long time and want to do everything right for it.
Any info would help thank you i will post pics soon!

B service is basically an oil change plus the cabin filter change. If you DIY it should cost no more than 100 to 120 for the oil, oil filter, and cabin filter depending on how much you pay for the oil.

congrats - and don't worry about the price - that's a fair price if the car is solid and it's a good warranty.
check your mileage...you should get between 19-21 mpg blended driving.
if lower mpg, you may want to check the spark plugs. it's supposed to be 100k plugs, but i hear many people change them around 80k. otherwise, rev the engine every so often and enjoy.
p.s. get the windows tinted, esp. given the black car color...it'll keep you cooler and also preserve your interior better.

I kinda liking ProV1's price. Do look at me; he started it. .
00C230k,
B Service typically runs $500 at the dealership or $350 at an independent shop. It's a glorified oil change plus wiper, and cabin filters. Now here's my view on this matter. Change the oil, the oil filter, both air filters, the fuel filter, and all 16 plugs. Probably at least a $grand at the dealership, but worth the performance and peace of mind. As long as they are doing the plugs, have then replace the motor mounts; a common issue. And, by all means, save at least $200 bucks for a MAF sensor that will surely become inefficient (another common issue). All aside, the dang thing is bulletproof. Worth every penny you drop into it. Welcome to AMG, and good luck.

If my memory serves me right, I believe you simply hold the R button down (in Service due mode) for a least five seconds, and follow the instructions.

all service depends on the shop hourly rate and in some areas like DC it is very high and over $90. My last quote on service b was $600. I just opted for the synthetic oil change coupon for $89.
