5.5 AMG Badges...

Some of the guys with the C-class AMG's are having OEM quality 6.3 AMG badges made for the 5.5 and the 3.2

https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c55-amg-w203/208415-5-5-amg-badge-idea.html

I figured this might be interesting to to us over here with 55's. Cost is around $30 for each badge.

This is a picture of the badge that was created and sent as a sample.

It would go on the front quarter panel right in front of each door. Where the V8 Kompressor logos go on the W211

Keep your cars from being so cluttered with crap. There are better things to do with your E55. Don’t support non-dealer add-ons that will take away from your MB ride!

This type of thing is why our America is becoming like so many other countries? What’s next for us? Our AMG cars made next to Rolex watches in China? I’m not faulting China they make some of the best products and reproductions in the world and the people are worlderful and smart, but Mercedes-Benz AMG's are produced in Germany.

Sorry guys, but this is how I feel about coping someone else’s artwork or designs. Remember, it’s just the tip of the iceberg. Next thing you know?

The greatest thing about our country...we have the right to do what ever we feel! You don't like the badge....you don't get the badge, I like the badge...I get the badge! It's just that simple in America! I don't see anyone mentioning the fact that in Germany a new C350 cost 46,053 EUR or $71,847! I trust if the C350 cost that much in the United States, not 20 would be sold! Now if only the United States could sell it's Chevy Corvette for what we pay for them in the United States+shipping without HUGE tarriffs that U.S. Car manufactures are forced to pay.....I think you would see THOUSANDS of them on the roads in Germany...after-all they sure would be a bargain! Be it as it may, Mercedes Benz undercuts their cars by almost half in the United States, but Germany adds HUGE tarriffs on imported vehicles from this country, so much so that a Chevy Caprice would be in the same price league as a Mercedes E Class, also...I guess putting on a Kleeman Supercharger built in this country is also wrong or updated wheels built here? Hell, anything not built by Mercedes Benz and/or AMG in Germany would be considered wrong in your eyes....I think maybe...this badge isn't such a bad deal after-all! Sorry, but that's how I feel.

Jim

I agree! Why put a stupid badge on the car that does not belong there!

Again that's your decision. I personally feel if it's good enough for the fender of a E63 and E55 Kompressor...it'll make a nice home on my fender as well.

Don't forget the first E55 AMG! - the w210 E55 It will probably look good affixed on there too. So for those who are against (for whatever reason), it's simple - don't put it on! IMO, aesthetically it's really not that bad you know... After all, it is still an AMG badge and if applied in good taste to a correct AMG vehicle (5.5 to an E55, 3.2 to a C32, etc...) then why not? But hey, to each his own! We're all AMG owners, and I'm sure each and every one of us are proud of our own AMG models... Now can't we just all get along?!!

I can get along....I just think it's silly for anyone to suggest I shouldn't put something on MY car because they don't like it. I know we are in a public forum and we have freedom to make comments on what-ever we want, but if I see something I don't like or care for...I hold my comments to myself, that's simply respect for one another!

right on Tacjam right on...
But it's all good, I am a big admirer of ALL MBs whether AMG or not. (But PULEEEZE don't ghetto it!)
Heck I have had a collection of the slowest of them all - the diesels and turbodiesels from the 70's and 80's (116 and 123).
Now let's get back to the passion of owning fine MBs... and we can to that!

That's a stupid comparrison you sound retarded!

The stupid fake non factory badge does'nt belong there. It's ghetto it's retarded it's also ricey!!! How can you compare that to putting a factory motor that's a stck M113 motor with bigger displacement in my C43?
It's also been put in my car to murder cars like yours!

Maybe his point is by comparing it that the larger M113 also doesn’t belong in your w202’s C43 engine bay?… kinda like the same way you commented on the stupid badge that “it doesn’t belong there” on his fender neither? But I get your point, just take it easy bro… it’s all good! Everyone will do with what they want to do with their own car anyway. No sense in going to the extremes just for a “stupid badge” But THAT engine in YOUR car must have lots of *****!!

Ok, let’s clear the air in here. I did not mean be my statement that all MB or AMG owners are not to modify or change their cars with aftermarket parts. What I mean is the AMG designs from the factory are great designs and if one changes them do it with class or improvement not placing a copyright infringement badge made in China on your car. By adding a badge molded from a factory designed 6.3 AMG piece is illegal in the USA. Mercedes-Benz may want to have their law firm look into these threads on some people-manufacturing product based on their copyright designs.

You can put whatever you want on your car just don’t support people or companies ripping off copyright designs. I know in other parts of the world people take designs and copy them, but here in the states you can see some prison time for that. Be safe.

The OEM style badge is stupid....I sound retarded because I simple pointed out' "We do to our cars what we want!"...you're car is faster....so what! You forgot to mention it's a W202 "C" class which is MB ugliest entry level vehicle ever made! I'm glad it's fast...maybe it helps you save some face. Doesn't the "C" stand for cheap? You put in a 5.4, now maybe you can find a body kit to make it look like an "E" class. Why don't you play on the Superfast "C" class forum! We can all throw insults around you ******* jackass!

I can't believe this thread about an emblem has de-evolved into this. C'mon guys, its simple...You want it, buy it. You don't like it, then you don't buy it.

Points have been noted re 'OEM' vs 'non-OEM'.

Lets move on, I can't wait to get my hands on a set of these.

Actually it de-evolved with statements like this..."I agree! Why put a stupid badge on the car that does not belong there!"

"That's a stupid comparrison you sound retarded! "

"The stupid fake non factory badge does'nt belong there. It's ghetto it's retarded it's also ricey!!!"

From his first post, he's just trying to get a rise, he could have said, "not for me!" or better yet NOTHING! What's so hard about passing something up you disagree with or don't want? But instead, it's such a "STUPID" emblem....I'll play along. If you push my buttons..I'll react. If you read my ealier post...all I was trying to convey, if you like the badge...buy it, if you don't, don't buy it. Since the only models in the "E" class AMG line up that doesn't say anything on the fenders are the 00-02 models, I think this badge is right on time...that's my opionion...should I really be insulted or belittled for liking this badge?

Probably time to lock this thread....nothing good is gonna come out of it.

I agree. Shut down the thread but let the group buy remain. Those and others should still be able to get on it.
