Fast help please *Anyone with W211 Airboxes on a (N/A W210,W208) M113 V8*
Hi!
I got a call from the guy whi is mounting the S/C. And they are going to install the W211 E55K Twin-airboxes on my W210. He told me that there where not enough space between the MAF and the bulkhead (Correct name?) So he wonders if there should be any distance thing or so, so that the Y-pipe can't fit in there Anyone who has a pic or have done this?
Thanks in advance!!!!!

I did a pic on what it is that makes it not fit. The pipe is where the cooling water runs through and it seems as if you need a intake with a different bend so it can come around these pipe where the water runs through.

Thanks, but i've already been in contact with him. He said that the MAF needed a bit of cutting in the plastic. But i'm not sure that it will do the trick in a W210 E55 engine bay, cause i think it's a bit smaller/tighter in our 55's engines compared to the longer W208 CLK55 hood

Have you contacted Kleemann? I'm sure they've been asked about this problem
before.
What about Peter and Jeff? (W210 E55K owners in this forum) Hopefully they
can give you a good direction on how to fix this.
good luck.

Did he just mount the MAF in the Y tube at the Y?
You should keep it at a point of highest intake velocity.
Good luck, Dyno on Fri?

No, no time for dyno on Friday. Going to drive it for a couple of KM so that the car adapts to the S/C being installed. Thanks!

If i knew that i'd tell you
My goals are crank 500+ HP 700+NM and 118-120 mph at the 1/4 strip
Really interested to see how the W211 airboxes combined with the double Kleemann heat exchanger will do. I think it will add a few more HP, at least the double heat exchanger

I told you the W211 airbox won't fit the W210 engine bay. I try it, only way they told me it would fit is for you to modify the fire wall. Bent it inward, that what Mercedes tech told me.

I have the same set up as you do but my SC was running a 2.5" pulley which make 9.2 psi (stock 2.8" make 6.2psi) and i bearly making 520bhp. Good Luck!

And i'm running 99 Octane fuel and have custom heat exchanger and W211 airbox, so we are not running the same setup
Also keep in mind that my car ran 112 Mph on 1/4 in it's N/A setup, thats aprox 420 HP, so add a charger and all my other mods and i see no problem in reaching 520 HP
And just because your car didn't reach 0.5 bar (7,15 psi) with the stock 2,8" pulley doesn't mean that my or any other car don't reach it
Boost isn't everything

How did he do it? Did he have to fabricate an extender tube to
clear the tubing?
Can't wait to see the results.
Post a new video when you have it screamming with the new S/C!!! thanks.
