Engine misfires after its been raining?
Last week I noticed my E55 would hesitate from low RPM when you'd suddenly give the throttle a prod. engine wouldn't die or anything, but from say, 2k RPM's, when you'd step on it to overtake or accelerate moderately, the car would bog down.
first things that went thru my mind were fuel pump going bad, or some electrical problem related to the high tension wires perhaps? or maybe even bad fuel?
after a while, the problem went away, and i'd forgotten about it, since i used the car a lot over the weekend, and it never put a foot wrong-- in traffic, and some WOT runs with a friend's RS4.
but just today on the way to work, it did exactly the same thing.
and i realized that both occasions, the car had been left out in the rain overnight. i live in the tropics, and when it rains, here it REALLY rains. over the weekend when the car behaved normally, there was no rain at all.
any ideas what it could be? does it make sense? i'm thinking i could be getting some kind of condensation somewhere and its affecting the electricals or electronics? and once the car has ran for a bit, things dry up / evaporate / etc?
car has never behaved like this before. its all stock, apart from an Upsolute chip which i've had several years. just changed MAF and high tension wires about 6 mos ago.
thanks in advance for advice!
