power and mods
#26
+++++++++, the primarys are an extreme restriction in the final of the exhaust manifold same as said AMS. i can said how i feel in my car (primary & secondary delats with only 2 O2's) i fell a little lose low end torque (1000 - 2000 rpm's range), but really a minimal "take in accont in a 350 hp's + 1 or 2 hp's is imposible feeling) but really about 3000rpm+ the difference are drastical in a hi end torque! im not have dyno charts for this mod, but work!
If you go to remove yours (purchase the right exhaust union sealant "befor the secondary cat" mid the union with 2 screws.. always broken when you uninstall the exhaust system)
Hope that help

Hey Luis,
I would not eliminate primaries, it will be too raspy and you will get CEL if it is a USA spec car. Upgrade your air filters to K&N filters. Keep the primaries and just put in the X-pipe. The X-pipe will definitely help give you more power on the top end and improve sound significantly without too much resonance. hope that helps

i guess the best combo mods would be the ams package with header, pulleys, ecu tune and xpipe alos primary and secondary hi flow cats! and the good thing is thta its bolt on power! AMS FTW!!!

I agree with AMS luis. if your car is an US spec you will have a CEL if you remove the primarys, anyway, my car is an euro without primarie & secons, deleated with direct pipe & the sound of the car realy are very close to the stock (i conserve the center & final resonator for now)
Hope that help

No, E50 and E55. The E60, has all his cats and resonator removed. Initially, he was basically running a straight pipe from the factory headers all the way to his stock muffler. When he realized he lost some torque, he put in a X-pipe. On idle, the E60 sounds normal, but when he his revs get higher, it sounds loud.

Removing all 4 cats will let more resonance through but realistically cats make the biggest difference once the cam opens up @ around 3500+, below that it won't make a huge difference in sound. With that said, the car fumes will stink pretty bad and also its terrible for the environment.
On a euro car since you don't have primaries, running high flow 300-cell metal core cats will be comparable running high flow primaries & no secondaries on a US spec car. Just get a set of high flow metal core cats, they are only 180 and there's only 1-2HP difference between that and straight pipes, so might as well eliminate the fumes & preserve the environment for that little of a gain.

Here is a Product Guide to our mods for M113 5.5L (non Kompressor):

The link works fine. The site just automatically truncates the URL that you see. Make sure you have Adobe Reader downloaded since it's a PDF file. You can also go to our main Product Guide page to select the specific model here:

But here's the full link non-truncated to the W210 E55 guide:

when you change the headers, x pipe, exhaust diameter and remove the resaonator and cat converters will it have an effect in the fueling of the car? will the engine lean out or not? can the stock AMG ecu cope up/adjust or match with the mods or do you need a ecu tuning? thanks!
and also another question when you change this parts do you have to reset the ecu? thanks!

oh ok even if i have a euro spec e55 that has 2 o2 sensors only unlike the US models that has 4? will increasing the pipe size from 2.25 to 2.5 increae power and tq or will it have a bad effect? thanks! im planin on putting header, reomve primary and secondary cats install a custom resonator and xpipe and retain the stock muffler... the resonator size will be same as the piping size 2.5inch. will it still make the car run lean? or is it ok with the stock ecu?
