puff of blue smoke after starting my e55

Is a puff of blue smoke normal during a start up?
I noticed this before after the car has been sitting for a while, but its only been one day and I noticed it..

What can be the cause?

Well. in our workshop we have some experience with the M112/M113 about the oil smoke.. if you only shows the blue smoke one time & no more. probably ur intake plenum/manifold have some amount of oil inside & enter to one cilinder by the intake valve (stayed opened) when you turn of your engine & stay away.. but if you see the blue smoke again & again & again probably you need to replace your piston rings & valve seals.. is no good to hear about this work, i know... but maybe you can remove & clean them up all your intake manifold removing the inside oil before made any major job!

Take care

Upgrade your oil to a thicker/higher quality oil that is less likely to burn (RP almost never burns unless its a piston ring issue). Next, do a BG full injector cleaning service, this will clean out all the gunk in your system as well as clean the valves & combustion cylinders. If these don't address the issues then you can be more concerned, but for now try those and report back.

Do you have good power now, or are you still running slow? A compression check might be in order if it's slow and burning oil.

how many miles on the car?if high mileage you might be seeing either some normal wear on the rings or the best case scenario ... the rings are somewhat gunked up ... i would run a high detergent oil(HDEO oil like Rotella 5W40 Synhtetic, or Mobil 1 Truck and Suv/Delvac 1 5w40 for 2-3 cycles and/or a treatment of AutoRX.

what oil are you using now, if you don't mind me asking?

Still battling the stupid problem, although ,,, last thing i did was spray some wd30 inside the egr valve and mess around with vacuum tubes. SO far for the last week no fuel subtraction by the ecu and car runs strong , i Posted a video of a 1/4mi run. My fingers crossed on the ecu subtracting fuel.. I still have a rough or lumpy idle on the car that I can not pinpoint though....
