New MeMber New 01E55<new to me>

Yep , Brang it home a couple days ago Drove it over 350 miles on title only. took almost 5hours to get there in a 04bmw530 at 75-80avg mph. Took 3 1/2 hours to get homelol ..I love it , and everyone i know loves it out of it ..
Picked up outside of chicago .
2001 e55amG 110k
2nd owner cpo said he's a member here not sure
Carfax clean , Records ,dealer and other service receipts from basically the first day he took owner ship .

Previous owner also claimed to be CPO but some receipts show that cash was paid .
Has the stock wheels PC'd black with the lip still aluminum polish<needs a good polish though>these are the winter wheels with Icebear tires.
Also a set of 18tsw with nitto555 as the summer wheels
Previous stated that the resinator was removed and its running straight pipe ?
Also car was dropped one inch .
Overall paint and body are great , minimal swirl, one small rust patch on roof next to sunroof. <had my bump guy next door look at it ,he said not too bad will be cleaned in the summer time .Its got almost every Option except Parktronic
BLK/BLK
am getting windows tinted , not sure if i want todo 35% or limo it out ..I live in Mich suburbs , Work in Detroit City . might have LEO issues if i Limo Tint it out .
The car came with all manuals ,all Nav cd's, 2 keys 2 set of floor mats summer and all weather rubbers
has smokes side marker lights ,hood emblem says AMG
Think i got a hell of a deal under 10k though its probably wont be eZ paying to fix somthing on it .

My Temp guage is just over the 80 mark .. is that normal on this car >?
Yesterday started the car, pulled out and as i was proceding my check engine light came on . I stopped, put it in park , shut off the car . waited a second or two , Restarted the light didn't come back on .. The light hasnt come on since driving it home from the PO or today . could that be a glitch or is it sensing somthing to come .? And i want to thank you all in advance for the right answers to the dumb question i will ask in the future.

xtra set 18inchtsw replicas came with the sale also summer tires

Nice pick-up, in great shape for 110k. Just above 80 is normal after warm-up. Looks like all of your pixels are functional as well, a lot more than a lot of W210 AMG owners can say.

Under $10k, heck of a deal.

+1 Great find.. & Welcome

Pick up yourself a OBDII scanner if you don't already own one. I have the 3rd one down. Works perfect doesn't have all the bells & whistles but it gets the job done. Plus you can always google the codes and post here if need be. This is going to save you on repair costs by troubleshooting yourself and fixing. Hopefully your a DIY, this car is very easy to work on. I've done most the repairs myself (well at least the easy stuff ) 2nd find yourself a good indy shop this will also play a big roll on repair issues. Save this link for parts http://www.autohausaz.com/

The issue that your currently having now is probably the MAF again an easy DIY job but you will need to pull the codes to find out for sure. Chance's are it's gone south. Once replaced your car will run a lot stronger as well You could always run over to Autozone to pull codes (the light will come back on) and your MPG will also improve as well. MAF insert here Bosch http://germanstar.net/MAF.htm Dont ever buy a MAF on Fleebay.

Looks like he re-painted the calipers? Is this the case? They look good. Any close up pics?

Enjoy the ride

Lot's of great guys in here, that can assist you with your new baby

Thanks guys , So far its holding it's own .. Havn't recieved no check engine lights anymore . Will check into the scanner .. Am getting the windows tinted Monday .. The owner agrees with my choice togo 35% on the windows and limo the rear window ..Would you guys say it would look cleaner if i just did 35% all the way around ..I believe im going to change my mind by then and do it that way ..

I will post some close ups of the Calipers when i take some better more recent pics .. What color are they supposed to be ..lol sorry Still new to this ..

Uniform tint all around is much better. 20% all around is the best look by far and usually its enough to the point where cops will never bother you, however in some states its not legal so check your local laws.

if you get a high quality tint, 35% should be enough, not all 35% tints are created equal so make sure you go with a good brand (like 3M or etc).

In most states 20% all around is not legal, but in Oregon I've never once had a problem with it... it's the guys that go darker that get busted.

Same, never ever had an issue with 3M 20% tint ever, its the 5% crowd that always get busted. Normally to do 20% you have to pay cash simply b/c its not legal, but other then that its easy to get.

Here in Detroit i've checked a couple of tint shops .. my best quote was $200 out the door and the product he's using is called SolarGuard which he claims is the best stuff that you can get around here .. I havn't come across any Tint places using the 3m product must cost too much for them to stock .. My buddy referred me to this place from when he took his stage3 s4 . Also my buddy mention to warn the installer to use as little water as possible as so no water leaks down into any of the motors or anything inside the door .. In Michigan i think its illeagal to tint the front windows unless you have a letter from a doctor hence the reason why im not going to limo tint it out.. Just feel like black car would look great smoked out all around but have to be reasonable to local laws also , Aint 21 anymore lol

Make sure they're installing the felt strips on the inside of the door panel or your tint will get scratched to he!!. That will usually run you a good bit more.

ok i will mention that to them , and if they dont have the felt strips .. so they will get scratched up you say ..hmmm , might have to just cancel .. or let them install and if they do scratch just take it back because i'm guessing there should be some kind of warrenty .

They should have a solution, but it's often not cheap. There are quite a few cars that require these, so it should be pretty common for a shop to have them.

Here's an example. I just google'd it and this was the first result, but is an example of what you would need.

Well good im glad u enjoy it we did it about 2 yrs ago maybe more but pipes are stainless and should still look great. As far as the license plate they my just be pop in pins that need to be takin out from the inside of the bumper or my just need a little bit of brut force but i never had mine on there so just my thought.
