is there any way to really turn off the traction control?

2001: Supercharged E55 AMG
Yes, if you open the hood and take the cable of the ESP box it will be 100% shut off. But you will also turn the ABS/BAS off and get warning lights all the time you drive it. But for dyno it's the only option on our W210 models.

I believe the dyno mode only started on the newer models. On the W210 you have to physically disable the system.

i don't really see it as a problem unless getting dyno'd like abalone said. burn out is easily doable with esp half turned off.
