So did a search and got couple differnt scenerios from differnt models of such problem. My heat works fine blower feels week but i get air out side vents and windsheild but not out the center vents . After checking on e500 seems some flaps brokens behind the radio dash area FML lol or on a differnt model was just a vac hose under the hood in engine bay . Anyone have any input to help before i go nuts trying to figure out where to start looking . TIA

Yep....try this. Turn the temp from say 70 degrees or whatever you have it on down to low. You'll see the system automatically switches it and it'll start coming out of the center vents. It's done on purpose. Well at least that's what it does on my car and it seems on yours so I'm hoping it's on purpose.

There is plenty of heat!
Want heat from the center vents?

Take both sides, driver and passenger, off of AUTO.
Select air direction on both sides to both Lower and Vents
Crank up the HEAT!

W124 - same issue
6 degrees in Chicago today - same issue, although car is garaged. All other vents are working fine except for center vent. Will move to lower temp to see if I get similar results. Tonight will check detailed manual. Anyone know if there are multiple blowers or one for all vents?

Yea man i have the same exact issue .. Its just bout that cold here in Detroit , my car isnt garaged I start it leave running for about 20 min before i get in , its all toasty n nice when i do , but my system is operating the same as yours ..
I was on some other forums and seen a post where somone said if your system seems like its operating at 50% on full blast setting then its the heater blower which is located behind the stereo .
Ive also read that it can be the flaps are not activating to allow the air to come from the center but since i feel it coming from the sides and windsheild but not center makes me think there be more then one fan but i havnt tore into it yet .. Let us know what u find out !!Goodluck
