......has this place got pretty boring? Come on, somebody start a crazy project. I'm so bored with my car. It needs about 4 turbos and 5000hp for me to get excited. Seriously. I know someone is turbo'n their car this winter......

Hahaha nope- I don't know if we have more readers than writers but this place has been very, very quiet. I'm working on getting headers and top off with a Tune and I'm off to the next project. Working on projectors right now while the car is sitting in the garage dying to get out!!!!

I also need 2 rear tires..... for spring..

anyone else have anything going?? mods/upgrades/repairs?

Come on gang keep this place ALIVE !!!! WRITE!!!!

How about a 6 speed manual conversion on a 2000 E55? I've got some spare parts laying around. Hmmmm...

I think the low dollar 2003-2004 E55's kind of killed it for me. Modding that is. I know they're troublesome cars, but what else can you buy for $15K-$18K and run 11's with simple mods. Or maybe, everyone is tightening up the pocket book a bit. I know I have. Just 4 years ago I sunk $8K supercharging a Ford F150 prerunner project, after about $6K in suspension. I enjoyed the build, but never again. Nowadays, I'm just treading water. Maybe it's just me, maybe it's a sign o' the times. Even the Japanese tuning mod world is slow. Street races are all but dead. I'm in SoCal, maybe it's different in your neck of the woods. But in my 'hood, times are tight. Maybe summer will heat things up.

You can get the twin turbo V12s for about the same.

With the huge depreciation these days, it's just not really worth converting a NA engine to FI. It's cheaper to just go to the W211. A few years ago, when a W210 was $30k and a W211 was $60k, it was a different story.

Brings back memories of modding. Think i sunk around $xxk+ for mine almost 10yrs ago. But still runs and never looked back!

I still have to install my kleemann headers and stuff... I just need to find the time. The whole modding thing is slow nowadays with all cars, it just makes life that much more boring.

I echo the money side of not modding. I miss the days in Cali - weather and the car scene. There are a few AMGs around here but not like CA. I'm at a little over 108k and happy mine has been reliable since coming off Starmark extended warranty. Just a MAF and a rear window regulator thus far. I did notice the other rear window is starting to act up. Oh, I also had a trans filter replaced by and indie since the dealership wouldn't touch it. I've got 27k miles on my Contis and it looks like I'll at least be buying new fronts pretty quickly.
