Once again oil all over front of engine HELP!
This happened last year as well, when temperatures dropped bellow 10f
Opened the hood for routine oil level check and oil is all over got carried everywhere by the fan , its all over the belt and all front accessories.
Last year my belt slipped off and got shredded to pieces because of the oil all over it and it almost overheated my engine, this year i got lucky and caught it in time.
The cause last year was wasn't exactly known, but a oil pressure relief was changed as well as gasket under the oil filter housing...
SO now I'm lost as to why this is happening when it gets cold outside and what is causing.
Ideas?

Try cleaning it off and then take a picture a little while later. Look for seepage so you can see where it is coming from. My guess is normally that the valve cover gasket is the worst offender, but would need to see on your engine.

I don't think this is a slow valve cover gasket leak. This seems like more of a burst of oil when temperatures are really cold outside. My accessory belt was soaked in oil, it was splashed all over, radiator, engine cover etc..

If it is the valve covers, you generally don't need to replace them. Just retighten them. Not too tight, aluminum is not forgiving. It's only if they leak substantially after tightening that you need to replace them. Hope that helps someone, if not you Alex.

Oil pressure gauge port, Fabio is right.
The seal(s) that MB used here, both original and later versions were a lousy design.
Take the port off, clean thourghly, lightly apply blue RTV to both sides of the seal, apply blue RTV to the facing of the port where it mates to the block and reinstall.
Problem solved. Had to do it on mine and haven't had any problems since.

Nope! no have to be drained the oil. only remove the oil port cap and you need to wait some hours to not get oil residual in the new silicone. clean all the area with some degrease, put the silicone and wait 12H+ to cure

hi , my car year 2005 model w211 accident going up a road divider and the engine splash all over with engine oil , also my expansion tank with creamy engine oil
the work shop change the damage radiator and cooler filter , hose flushing . drive the car for 2 hours and found spilled with creamy engine oil in the expansion tank , engine temp slightly up only. whats u guys think ?
