Any experience with Nankang NS2 tire ?

I am looking for a set of tire of my W210 E55. It's a commute car even I don't drive much. Anybody has experience with Nankang NS2 ? looks pretty good but not sure about the quality. I will ask for Taiwan production instead of China production.

http://www.nankang.com.tw/home.php?f...t_1&no=7&pno=1

I got a quote 245/40/18 front and 265/35/18 for $500 installed. What do you guys think ?!

Products made in China can be suspect, especially when the product is being sold by a Chinese company direct. The Chinese companies are focused more on profits and selling products to the western consumer vs. safety and reliability. Try and sue a Chinese company (good luck). They play by a different set of rules when compared to manufactures from more developed countries, they are more like the wild west when it comes to ethics and product standards.

I buy only non-critical products from direct Chinese manufactures (basically junk that is not of real importance). I will buy more critical products manufactured in China, but only when it is a western company, who uses the Chinese to manufacture there product, but it is the western company that is responsible for design and quality control of the products.

The Chinese companies do not take pride in their products, only their profits. Spend a few more dollars for tires and be safe especially in a High Performance Car.

go on tirerack and buy a set of sumitomo HTRZ IIs They're a bargain, wear very well, and aren't noisy. I also noticed that they feel very stable in the rain. I think they're along the lines of $150-$200 a tire which is pretty good for a fairly well known company.

A friend of mine was running those Sumitomos on an HHR and was very happy with them.

Lots of truth to what you are saying. Their lack of concern is bringing manufacturing jobs back to the US. The Chinese quality issues are costing companies more in defective products than if they just made them in the US.

Chinese labor costs are on the rise so a substandard product with an increasing price is just what the US needs to get back to manufacturing their own products for US customers. I am excited to see the jobs start to come back.

Even increase labor cost in China, they are still the lowest labor. $400 monthly salary is still way cheaper than every country. This is sad but I really hope US can start to have more manufactures, jobs.

I had purchased those nankangs for $200 the set with 1000 miles on them, they lasted close to 2 summers maybe less then 10k miles and thats was all she wrote but for the price they went half bad but I'd never pay retail for them rather spend more get better quality

I have Sumitomo HTRZ II's and they're pretty decent. The tread pattern and sidewalls look awesome though that's unrelated.

Only problem with the tires you mentioned is that they don't last long on our cars...specially when you like to light them up
