Plasti-Dipped my wheels
I was drunk one night and bought the Plasti-Dip wheel kit. I finally got around to doing it today and sort of like it. I don't really like the color now so I'm going to put more copper on it next weekend and just go with black if I don't like that.
The right rear wheel was he first one and turned out like ****. I'll have to redo the whole thing.
My roommate also fixed my gauge cluster. All the displays work now.![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Black would look nice... I think your grill is black as well? Can't really see from the photo.
BTW just noticed your selling the E55? Just curious any particular reason why? Every time I plan on selling mine I just get cold feet. lol

The grill is black as well. I may also do the badges this weekend so everything matches.
I'm selling it because I can't afford it any more. My current living situation is costing way more than expected so I need to get rid of the loan. That's only happening if I sell the car. It sucks, because I'm going to lose my *** big time. I've dumped a ton of money into it fixing stuff over the last 2 years. The only mechanical issue is a random misfire at idle.

I just masked it off and sprayed them on the car. That's the nice thing with plasti-dip, you just peel it off where you don't want it. I put on about 5-6 coats and didn't use any clear. It's easy and only took about 45 minutes total. One spray can is more than enough to do all the badges on a car.

I like the way your car sits. Mine has the H&R springs but it sits higher then I would like. Off topic, but if you would let me know, what pads do you have for the front and back? Thanks.
I actually like the color of the rims....is that copper color? Maybe, should go with the copper grille and badges instead

I'm running #1 pads front and rear. My H&R springs are cut as well.
The wheels have a black base with the copper metalizer on top of that.

Now I understand, the springs you have are cut hence it really sits lower then it should. How do they handle? I have #2 in the front and #1 in the back which balance the front and back but not lowered enough, the way I like them to be.

This video shows them doing it with different bases.
The car is dropped 2" all around now. It handles quite well and rides basically the same as before cutting the springs. It might be a little bit bouncier. It also made a big difference when I swapped out the stock Bilstein HD shocks for the Bilstein Sports. They made it ride a lot better.

I originally bought the kit from Dipyourcar.com. When I did them black I just picked up cans at Home Depot.
