What did you do to your E55 today?

I hit a big bump on the way to work on Tuesday, and I noticed the car was sitting lower on that side, almost tucking tire (it looked good). I checked on it today and I cracked my control arm . I just changed my lower ball joint a few weeks ago and it looked fine then. Ordering new parts now.

your LCA cracked coz it's rusted, dat's dangerous man!
don't drive your car if you wanna stay alive.
are you changing both sides LCA or only the damaged one?
better replace the other side LCA, i bet it's rusted too!
was that a pothole you hit on low or high speed?

that rust looks very dangerous, cancer has been growing for ages!
I wonder if there has been fatal accidents from these LCA rust issues drivers losing control over their vehicles?
your LCA busted @ 20mph, what cudd have happened if you were driving much faster and hit a pothole losing control with an injury or the worst a fatal accident?
look over your car for other dreaded parts, and replace them aswell for your own safety.
time for you to purchase 2x new LCA.
after you had them installed coat them in wax oil to prevent future rust damage.
god speed
good luck

Replaced Multi Contour Seat Controls
When I purchased my car about 4 years ago the Multi Contour seats didn't work. The driver's seat would inflate, only to deflate 30 seconds to a minute later. The passenger side seat wouldn't inflate at all. I didn't do anything with them for some time. Later, I switched the driver's side and passenger side controls, and still nothing.
Now, 4 years later, I decided to purchase 2 new controllers. Yesterday I installed them and my driver's side works great! It is so nice having lumbar support. I'm working on getting the settings to my liking. I don't think the passenger side is working, but I need to check it out further to be sure. If not I will troubleshoot it at a later time.

How much and where did you order them? Thanks.

Quiet in here, what has everyone been up to?
Transport has been confirmed For our 55.
Parts and maint plan finalized. Only two outstanding (optional+) items to identify are:
1. high flow muffler
2. euro tune
3. Pre-owned Renntech air box
If anyone is parting out, or knows someone selling please PM me.
Thanks all! Happy AMG motoring this weekend!

I was able to get a front mono block from Fredtga on here correcting the staggered setup. So, my current spare rear et35 mono block has a new job, coffee(beer) table...

It was about that time right? Looks like I have an alignment problem up front and a right foot problem out back.
So this time around I wanted to try a different tire. I have bought all the major brands and I just eat through them. So I asked my indy who road races and he suggested to try some Ironmans. These are the Imove Gen 2 AS.
He swears by them and puts them on Miatas and such. Says they are great in the rain, so I say get me a set. 235/35 fronts 275/30 back. We shall see what happens in the rain.
So far they are smooth and grippy.

Had a nasty P0170 that I was chasing for months. Ultimately it was my air intake manifold. The upper had to be split apart and resealed. While there I changed the manifold gaskets, cleaned the throttle body, changed its seal and cleaned the egr and changed its seal as well.
I also replaced the vacuum hose that comes out from the bottom of the manifold by using this method. It was already broken and brittle and just crumbled a part upon touch. The main culprit was the seeping of the upper manifold. Shocking how dirty the inside of that manifold was. Spent more time cleaning the manifold than anything else.
It was quite a job and no matter how gentle I was, plastic breaks everywhere and on fuel injector the clips snapped easily. Alot of grime on injectors tips and just everywhere. My valves are sludgy so contemplating a flush. The only other casualty I had was the drivers breather chamber vacuum nipple snapped. It was already deteriorating and separating when I resealed them and changed my valve covers before. JB Weld and RTV is helping but not fully sealed so a very slight vibration. Looking for a driverside valve cover on the bay just for the breather now.

32 brakes and some oil seals
I didn't oil cooler, oil filter housing, timing chain test port, and cam sensors seals. Washed the motor after
And finally did the w203 c32 brake upgrade. Definitely better than what I had, but haven't had fresh w210 e55 stuff either.
I have w220 s55 Amg wheels and 12mm spacers, used c32 calipers, r1 concepts rotors, pads (for c32), new hardware kit, reused w210 brake pad wear sensors.

Did a little exhaust work today. Started with just a muffler delete. Car sounds much better and is breathing much easier. Thinking about possibly a resonator delete as well, but happy for now :-)

A/C ice cold now !!!
Hot July days and A/C blowing warm air...
So, I got out my manifold gauges and hooked up the line to the low pressure valve and the other to the can of 134a refrigerant. Added one can and it's now blowing ice cold air. Ahh ... A/C is good in July heat. Job done.
I use only pure refrigerant, not the mixed DIY bottles in the auto parts store with crappy STOP LEAK. This time I opted to add a bottle to the system instead of a full evac and recharge. System responded well.
