Also Recaro came out this evening just didn't like the way the seat was set up (high and fixed). The Planted base is from a 996 & has been modified to fit the E55 rather than buying one that's meant for the ca and since already modified, I am keeping it.
The square tube and the recaro side braket makes you feel as if you are sitting on a toilet, too high for my taste. It's being replaced by Planted sliding mechanism and the planted side mounts, probably not as aesthetically pleasing as the Recaro's are but none the less, would serve the purpose much better
---------------------work in progress--------------
Removed the Recaro side mount and the spacer bracket, left the seat inside to go get the Planted brakets/sliding rails and the side mounts only to find out, our 6 year old has already found his spot LOL

Removing the current brakets
LOL
Looks like you're going to have to buy another seat....
Ran into a little sang last night. Once the rails were installed to the seat, I couldn't align the brackets to the base plate which is actually a Porsche 996 version
Well that could be fixed by drilling extra holes in the rails but this new set-up sits 2" lower than the previous set up, so not going to work
Options: I am going to call Planted to see If ordering the appropriate Mercedes W210 base plate gives me enough height or the second option, keep the current bracket and order the 2" Planted spacers?
I do like the looks of the all black Planted side mounts though
Starting to bring the car back to original and better condition
The engine bay seems all butchered up and would like to get rid of the stupid *** stuff done to it
Going to install Speed43 box and get rid of the friggen cone air intake.
Can someone please explain to me to install the OEM air box, what do I exactly need done here (can post more pictures) if needed?
What the **** did the guy do with the passenger side of the engine bay and what are those hoses with the catch can, take it off, and if leave it in, how to tidy up the mess?
Just snapped these. No clue what all your hoses are for. This is stock.

Speed 43 just did these custom airboxes for me in special Matte Black paint, all 4 pieces
Unfortunately while opening up the box, I ended up cutting the front cover as well
The finish is top line and once everything is good, I will send it back to him to refinish for me yet one more time
Gotta get rid of that Cone air filter crap.
I guess if it was done right and not just thrown it int here along with other engine stuff, I would have kept it but aesthetics was not the PO priority and that's OK too
When I replaced mine, from memory, I used a rear star from an SLK or something similar. Measure in millimeters and find the one closest to the size you need online. I got mine off Ebay.
The 210 E55 is like driving a Flintstone's vehicle in comparison to the 997 TT.
Not really. The way black beast is set up-- Lowered/bigger brakes/19" wheels with MPSS tires/headers/X-pipe/EC engine/transmission tuning--- It honestly feels great.
I have a 964 Turbo as well and all these cars have different flavors, one not better than others.

Not sure If it would or not...just a thought but when I take it out for a spin, it changes my mind.
Some random pictures on my drive back after picking it up and driving it back 1300 miles from CO this past weekend.
210 E55 is just not in the same class as the 997tt. I loved mine too but let's get real. It wasn't in the same class as SL/CL bi-turbo 12's. Lost interest in it where it sat for year and years, so I finally got rid of it as it felt so slow in comparison. It will go down as the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. Was the Toyota Camry of AMG's.
