What products are you using, Eagleeye? I just got a box from Zaino and thought I'd give it a try.

Sweet...what did you use to dress your tires? Did it rain that day or did the sprinkler system in your subdivision go off and trickle all over the road? It seems that always happens to me when I get the car just right? And yes...I do stop and turn around and find another way to my house when I see that the road has puddles when the sprinkler systems turn on...lol!!!!

I use Klasse All-in-One followed by Pinnacle carnauba wax. Both products are easy on and easy off and give great results.

Intermittantly I also use 1Z Glanz wax which is a petroleum based product which goes on and off super easy and allows me to wax between my quarterly Klasse/Pinnacle application in about 20 minutes.

As for the tire dressing, I just use regular Armor-all, but I let the first coat dry then apply it again.

Never tried Zaino because I'm so happy with my results.

Keeping a black car clean has never been easier.

I beg to differ! My carbon black M3 was such a pain. It would look beautiful for all of 4 hours and then at the end of the day you could see a very fine layer of dust.. drove me nuts. and in 3 days it was time to wash again! Car looks great, makes it worth owning black when you see that.

I actually just bought both those about a week ago, along with the klasse sealent glaze and have yet to use them. Any secrets you have for applying the aio or the wax? The foam pad with the wax seems pretty cheesy.

Meguiar's nxt - great solution

Big thumbs up, but speaking as a former Zaino user (6+ years), Meguiar's nxt Tech Wax (actually a similar forumulation to Zaino) gives incredible results at a fraction of the price.

I will 2nd that, recent Zaino to NXT convert myself. IMO, it's a superior wax because of it's ease of application as well as it's pricetag & availability. I don't mind paying for a good wax but it is really hard to beat the NXT. The wax itself has a limited lifespan, so make sure to pick up the sealer and apply it as well. It helps. I also use their car wash, great stuff too.

Has anyone used that Mr. Clean no dry car wash? I'm hesitant to touch anything with Mr. Clean on it, but drying a car is very often one of the hardest parts about washing it, especially on black. Anyone have any feedback?

Marcus, I have not used the Mr. Clean yet, but I have been using the Sonüs Ultimate Drying Towel from autopia, and it works great, drys spot and streak free. The only pain I find in drying this car, is the trim on the doors hold in tons of water , which is next to impossible to dry completley, it just keeps dripping out. My leaf blower though does do a good job when it comes to the cracks the water likes to hide in.

I use the Mr. Clean. It does not save time so to speak, but it does make it much, much eaiser. There is a spray cycle (I don't use this particular cycle) and there is the rinse filtered cycle. The water pretty much dribbles out in the rinse doubling the amount of time to rinse the whole car, but it also gives you the extra time for the wheels and some extra time for the dirty areas to wash without the worry of drying water spots.

LOL! i am the same way. I hate to sound crazy. But there is this one spot some nights where i live on a one lane road that always has the sprinkers on. So the day my car is clean i first take another car to the spot to see if its dry or not! :p

Marcus...how would you compare the NXT to the Gold Class?? I have a black car and I'm worried about getting a good wax!

Also...what sealer are you talking about?

My brother is a Vette freak and swears by Zaino?!

Thanks!
John

I too am a NXT convert from the Gold Class line of products from Meguiars. Great stuff, it really can not be beat. Save yourself the money and go with NXT. NXT is very very easy to apply on a black car and it will leave it shining for a long time.

I tried the NXT on my 4-runner and it lasted for a very very short time.

I finally tried the Zaino method this weekend and wow, incredible results. Very easy to apply and the car looks amazing. I'm going to go for a few more coats this weekend, and then I'm going to add the Carnuba Wax as a final touch just like our friend here...
