Zaino has made me a believer!

Wow. This stuff rocks. Washed it with Dawn, clay barred it (used up 2 bars), re-washed it with Zaino carwash, applied 4 coats of Zaino wax made to get rid of swirls, applied 4 coats of normal Zaino wax for perfect optics, and applied Zaino spray wax in between each coat (7 coats of spray wax). Then used Zaino leather cleaner and then Zaino leather conditioner. Wow.

It looks incredible. Had to put the Zaino bottle above the vent on the hood for the picture cause it slid right off everywhere else on the car. The leather cleaner makes it smell like brand new leather. It took 2 guys non-stop (other than 30 minutes for lunch) working from 8:30 AM- 5 PM.

I'm definitely a believer.

You can only get the stuff mail ordered from Sal. http://www.zainobros.com/files/info.htm Just make sure to follow the instructions...otherwise you waste a lot of material, time, effort, and money.

Thanks!

Ima is right. Follow the directions or waste a lot of time. The products are not very expensive for what you get out of them.

The car does look great, but wouldn't 8 hand-applied coats of any-brand wax plus 7 coats of spray wax turn out looking great?

The true test would be to start with "before" pictures of a dirty car, then do equal wax treatments (but different brands) on each half of the car and then take "after" pictures. Would anybody be able to tell a difference?

I nominate you. Go apply 15 coats of Maguires and let us know what you think.

Talking

Guess I saw that comin'. Actually, I'm still at the stage of trying to decide which brand to use and now wondering about this clay bar stuff. In the meantime, I just take it in to a detail shop.

I was hoping one of you waxin' experts would feel inspired to prove your favorite brand. (and then I'd be inclined to jump on the bandwagon)

All buffing was by hand. I've heard good things about leatherique as well. The smell of the Zaino leather conditioner is a tad on the strong side but smells like a saddle.

Got a local detailer who I've used before to do it. He usually charges $95 for a detail that takes about 2 hours. I paid him $250 for he and his guy to do it for a bit over 8 hours.

Hey Derek ...

What did you/they do about the ClearBra? Was the area under the ClearBra completely cherried before that was put on, so it's not relevant? I had a ClearBra installed a month ago and while the area underneath it was buffed out a bit it's still got fine scratches and swirls in it under the right light ... I'm worried if I get mine über-detailed that it'll end up looking like "night 'n' day" vis-a-vis the ClearBra'ed area vs. the rest of the car ...

Very good point. My clear bra was installed at the dealer (but not by them) before I even picked it up. Still though, it did have swirl marks in the paint. You have to look rather closely and be specifically looking for the difference but it is there. It does not stand out. The only upside is that it's a good "before and after." Next time, I'll have the car Zaino'ed up before I put the bra on it.
