Drive-Dynamic Seats with Multicontour Seatbacks / keyless go?

Hi, new to the board. I have a C32. Looking to upgrade to the E55. My dealer is getting a E55 with everything except the:

Drive-Dynamic Seats with Multicontour Seatbacks
Keyless Go

The car is silver (I have black now and it hard to keep clean), if the price is right do these options really make big differnce to those who have them?

THANKS!!!!!

In australia, the multi-contoured seats are standard, but not the dynamic seats.
The multicountered seats are nice but you can live without them. Basically they give you the ability to inflate the boulsters, lumber position and inflation and underneath your theighs.

I find the bolster inflation the only useful part of them, the rest are uncomfortable for me.

*edit* I think it still comes with multicontoured seats, my mistake. I can't answer your question about the dynamic seats

2005 e55
i ordered the drive dynamic seats along with the keyles go,i definately say the drive dynamic seats are the one option i would not sacrifice.the keyless go at first could go either way until i became used to not having to reach inside my pocket every time i went to drive the car,now i would reccomend them as well.

I ordered my new E55 with the driving dynamic seats with a little apprehension. I read some positive posts about the seats and I felt a little better about having ordered them. Now that the car is here and I have driven it, I can say without any reservation that I am going to love them. If the dynamic function bothers you, turn it off. Even without the function working, they seem to be more comfortable to me. My best advice is for you to go to the dealer and drive an E class with the seats and one without them. In my opinion, this car is too expensive to get it equipped without something that is important to you. You should love this vehicle, and it should love you. Having one is more of a personal relationship than an ownership. Good luck.

Obviously there are a lot of available options and you'll find heated debates about the need for many of them on this forum. I've had my E55 for a week and really appreciate both keyless go and the drive dynamic seats. Living in a cold climate where I'm often wearing a coat, it's nice to just leave the key in my pocket. Driving around town, the seats are no big deal. But if you like to drive around corners fast (and hopefully you do), they're real handy.

It's still a great car without those features, but I think they are worth every penny. Having lived with both for 3 months, I would hold off until you can get the car equipped exactly the way you want.

I have to agree about the seats. They are awesome. I also have the keyless go and hardly use it if ever. It looks cool, but is sort of useless to me.

Drive dynamics seat are great - the only issue is driving in another car without them, if they only knew what they were missing.
dont even hesitate.

I love my keyless go. You put your keys in your pocket and you never have to touch them again. Walk up to your locked car and it will let you in. Sit down, put your foot on the brake, push the button one time and you're off. When you get out push the lock button on the door handle and it's locked.

As for the seats, I don't think the drive dynamic seat is worth it but I haven't lived with it so can't give good advice on it.

I did the exact same thing as you in late November of 2004. I traded in my C32 for an E55 and it was the best move I've ever made. My 2003 came with Keyless Go & Drive-Dynamic w/ Multi Seatbacks and I love both options. I really wanted the Keyless Go but didn't know much about the DD Seats. I will never order another car w/o Keyless Go, it's that good to me! The DD Seats are also great for taking corners a bit harder then normal, as it really keeps you upright in the seat.

Love the car, power, and features...you won't be dissapointed when you go E55!

hey guys i myself am looking to tradeup from c32 to e55. i've been looking around for info regarding the multicontour seats in 2003....were they available standard? this is probably the most important feature to me and would appreciate any feedback.

btw MBUSA - under "16 yr history" -does state multicontour as standard in 2004 but doesn't mention it in 2003:-

2003
Seating & Trim
10-way power front seats each with 3-position memory and adjustable lumbar support. Driver's seat memory includes steering column and outside mirror positions. Memory stations are linked to each SmarKey's user-recognition feature.

2004
Seating & Trim
10-way power front seats each with 3-position memory and adjustable lumbar support. Driver's seat memory includes steering column and outside mirror positions. Memory stations are linked to each SmartKey's user-recognition feature.

Multicontour front seatbacks with pneumatically adjustable side bolsters, dual lumbar supports and thigh support.

i'm hoping multicontour was standard, not attached to any option packages for my 2003 so all i need to focus on in shopping is milage /condition and price.

thanks much.

So many options to be had on an E55 - and I wouldn't go without keyless go or the DD seats.... I suggest that you put a little more thought into what your options are (pardon the pun) and which ones you'd like before you plunk down 80 or 90K. There are alot of E55's to be had right now....

Well...I dont have my E55 yet...Was looking for the car with Keyless go as well but found that very low millaged E55 (5500 miles) but it has everything except keyless go...Havent tried dynamic seats yet..but I'm sure they work good..

I have keyless go on my S-class it a very nice option until you battaries die one day and you get stuck somewhere...

Right now I take both key less go card and normal key with ME...very comfortable option indeed...

I wish my wife came with Keyless go.....I friggin LOVE it.

Just can't say enough about it....it drops jaws, it's functional, it's a MUST have. I agree...don't settle...there are dozens of 55's on AutoTrader loaded with just what you need.

Vix, thanks for the comment. I can't believe that I wrote those words. Seems like my writing skills have gone down hill since that post, but when I wrote it, I was in day 2 of ownership and I was experiencing the usual new owner's euphoria. I am not sure I could come up with phraseology like that again.

That said, I now have had the dynamic seats since April. They might just be my favorite part of the car. My wife absolutely loves them and so do all the passengers who get an opportunity to experience them. My advice is to get them.

I have both and like both -- although I would wish the DD would react a bit quicker. But I would not let their absence prevent one from getting an otherwise great car. Besides, they are two less things not to break down. My dd seats have broken once and there are many stories on this board about keyless go.

i found an e55, price may be right with the options i want....and i think it has DD seats. (had the fam with me after shopping and they were a bit out of it not in "a let's checkout e55 mood").

i will see the car in more detail this week but it had a control unit on right lower drivers seat---- is that the drive dynamic??? (sorry i'm anxious...i know i can wait).

man if i can get into this at right price someone pinch me a ferrari f355 and an e55 in space of 3 months i must be dreaming.

Am not sure but all E55's I think have that control unit. With DD there is an additional button at the bottom with a red indicator on activation.
