11.75 NO nitro or NO racing gas and No heat soak

At the track last night, my best time was 11.75 at 116.59 but the significant note is that I was consistantly under 12; run after run without the heat soak problems I had before. As many of you know, I have pulley, ecu, headers and LSD and CO2 cooling on the intercooler radiator and in the intake exhaust. But the biggest change has come from insulating the air intake tubes and air boxes with thick silver heat "cloth" (not tape). It looks great, is cheap, easy to install and it works. The track was not crowded last night and I did four runs in all within 15 minutes. Usually my times suffer after the first run but not last night. My best run was actually my last! I would recommend to anyone experiencing inconsistant performance with additional boast to do the insulation. I will post pictures of this simple and effective set-up shortly.

P.S. the CO2 last for about 5 minutes of runs and cost $10 to rerill 5 lbs bottle

Nice run.I wonder if they have an insulating mat to place over the intake manifold on the N/A cars?

Is that Kleemann Stage 2 you have? What tires? For that time and trap, I imagine you had a great 60 ft time.

I have posted the time sheet on http://www.dragtimes.com/Mercedes-Be...ag-Racing.html. The 0 to 60 was 1.75 and I have a pulley, ecu mod, headers and exhaust work, lsd, a cryo system for cooling and much insulation. I have posted many pictures in the past of the cryo and exhaust setup. However my results with just some well placed insulation cloth have been impressive and it is of course much cheaper than the other cooling mods out there. It is important to note that just with insulation (without using the carbon diocide cooling) my times are very consistent run after run. My best trap speed has only been 119 but with the BF drag radials it drops to about 117.

22psi and I think the drop is related to running my ps2 at high pressure which creates less drag on the top end. It could also have something to do with diameter difference. I have 19 inch 275 30 ps2 on HREs and the bf drags are 18 inch 265 35 on the stock rims but since the tires are 35s I thought that the one inch difference equates to the same ratio but it could be off a little. Last point is that I think the HREs are lighter than the stock rims. Any thoughts

Hmmm. I never noticed any drop in trap speed between the PS2's and the DR's. I run the DR's between 17-18 psi and pump up the fronts to 40-45 PSI.

Are they the same size and do the rims weight the same?

Identical OEM 18" rims (no centercaps) with 275 DR's.

Okay so maybe that is why I have a difference and you don't. Thanks for the input

Sure. I don't know about the weight issue, but I use the OEM rims so they don't see you coming. Mismatched rims are a dead giveaway that they're running DR's or slicks.
