I was with my girlfriend today and she just bought an M3 convertible. She has only had it 3 hours and on the way back from the movies she raced 3 cars including a yellow M3.
I push people all the time to race and nothing, only when I know the person next to me will they play. I just want a little race just to show them what my little car can do, but never any takers.
I'm guessing people know that the emblem "AMG" means power and would kill ther rice burner or that my car is just another grandpa's Mercedes and isn't worth racing.
Any thoughts?

Post a picture of your girlfriend and we will probably tell you why people are ignoring you and paying attention to her.

alls I can say is keep your racing to a track. street racing is over rated and can be expensive.

They don't want to be embarrassed. As soon as any BMW or Vette or Porsche sees the AMG they back off a half a mile. Another reason to debadge.

No true all the time. In Southern California (at least in where I live), there are a lot of very powerful cars that prey on AMG-badged cars (authentic or not) and eat them for lunch and dinner.

I would love the competition. No matter how outclassed I felt like in my Vette I always gave it a try. I don't mind being embarrassed, there's always someone will to spend more money for HP. Sweet

I live in LA but I don't necessarily experience what you do. I have raced a lot of very powerful cars and have not lost once. I did, however, get taken by a supercharged M3 a few weeks ago but once we got to a light I took him in a straight line, no problem.
