Improviz, 0-125 vs 1/4 mile times
Dude, I don't have the time to pull the stats you looking for & even if I get them you will find a way to squirm out of it. If I find a car that traps 85mph on the 1/4 & then we talk about 0-15mph times, is that really going to helps?
So instead I'm going to pull a Bishop to Knight 4 checkmate move on your a$$. Let's see that superior intellect a work when the reverse is applied to you. Of course you know that whatever argument you squirm out, you will be prviding m with the same argument to use against you.
You state that although the M5 is 0.8 seconds faster than the E55 to 124mph, the 1/4 mile time will be similar. So I guess the same could be applied to an M5 & an SL/CL65. We've all seen the CL65 test where it got the same 0-124mph time as the M5, 13.8. But hey I love your excuses that that was a dud car, so I'll use all the tests I can find.
Here's the fastest 65:
http://www.einszweidrei.de/mercedes/sl65amg2004-1.htm
Test in ams 13/2004
Gewicht 2057 kg
0 - 80 km/h 3,0 s
0 - 100 km/h 3,9 s
0 - 120 km/h 5,1 s
0 - 130 km/h 5,9 s
0 - 140 km/h 6,6 s
0 - 160 km/h 8,2 s
0 - 180 km/h 10,1 s
0 - 200 km/h 12,6 s
400 m, stehender Start 11,9 s
Here's another:
http://www.einszweidrei.de/mercedes/sl65amg2004-2.htm
Test in sport auto 09/2004
Gewicht 2049 kg
0 - 80 km/h 3,3 s
0 - 100 km/h 4,3 s
0 - 120 km/h 5,6 s
0 - 130 km/h - s
0 - 140 km/h 7,1 s
0 - 160 km/h 8,8 s
0 - 180 km/h 10,5 s
0 - 200 km/h 13,1 s
& here's the slowest:
http://www.einszweidrei.de/mercedes/cl65amg2004-1.htm
Test in sport auto 08/2004
Gewicht 2109 kg
0 - 80 km/h 3,6 s
0 - 100 km/h 4,8 s
0 - 120 km/h 6,6 s
0 - 130 km/h - s
0 - 140 km/h 8,2 s
0 - 160 km/h 9,8 s
0 - 180 km/h 11,4 s
0 - 200 km/h 13,8 s
Now, the fastest 0-124mph for the 65 is 12.6.
The fastest 0-124mph for the M5 is 13.5 by Auto Bild.
The next fastest 65 test is 13.1
There are 2-3 tests of the M5 that got 13.8-13.9.
So it looks like the 65 is around 0.7-0.9 faster to 124mph.
So, my question is, forget about the badges on each car. Tell me again about your theory about 0-124mph & 1/4 mile times?
