where is the fm antenna?

where is the fm antenna?

My dealer tells me that my fm radio does not pick up stations too good because i have tinted the back window. is this bs or is there someway to move the antenna so that i can pick up more stations

No, it's not BS if you used a metalic based tint because it's in the window. If that's the case, get it re-tinted with a different material and the reception will come back.

I believe that is Tele Aid and maybe the cell phone antenna.

The metallic lines inside the glass are the antenna. The amplifier is in the C-pillar and the wires run directly to it.

There is a set of solder joins where the inside wires meet the surface to copper wires.

So anything that goes on the glass will potentially alter the radio function.

I've had the same problem with the radio and tint on a Lincoln... so this time with my E55 I went with LLumar non-metallic film. The radio works fine. I understand that the film may not last as long and might discolor after awhile so I'm prepared to have it re-tinted a few times if need be.
