while the c6 z06 is expected late in the year the rear end of the car is horrendous. hard getting over it, its a freaking billboard!!! so i have another plan and wonder what yall think. get a 2003/4 clk55 (35k). put on an hps s/c (10k), 500hp, 550tq, and get the clk body, wheels and wing (15-25K) for a total of 60-70K. I FREAKING LOVE THE CLK DTM but dont have an extra 425 sitting around. YET... so, what would you do? a truw race car z06 from the factory or a dtm replica for the same price.

 

Has a MSRP been announced on the Z06 yet?

 

I think the C6 Z06 looks wicked! But if you don't like it, then it might be hard to warm up to it. Just remember that CLK will be hard to sell and you're gonna lose a lot more money since the market for DTM-kitted Mercedes-Benz is ridiculously tiny. I would stick w/ the Z06.

 

Mike, are you getting tired of your E? I would either keep the E or get the 'Vette. I don't see the point in putting all that cash into a CLK and look like, dare I say it....A DTM poser LOL Unless it's the read deal the DTM is a little "ricey" looking to me.

 

I'd keep the E and get the Z06 I have a C5 Z06, and while it's not the most beautiful car out there, it's very lightweight (3115 stock curb weight) and has a lot of power from the factory. I added some mods (about 185rwhp more than the factory 363rwhp ) and it's a real screamer

IMO, you don't necessarily buy cars like the Z06 for looks/build quality, but you buy them strictly for the performance for the $$$. And mods are much cheaper than they are for more expensive cars, too!

I would give up my wife, kids, and girlfriend for that frign DTM cause its a sick *****, but I wouldn't build a wanna be one cause it still wouldn't even come close to the real one. though i'm not a vette guy, i actually really hate the vettes i would say just get one of those.

 

still keepin the e, ARE YOU ALL CRAZY!!! every view of the z06 is bad *** sept' its lard ***. the dtm on the other hand is a car id want even if they never made one, i love that body kit and the wing. and yes IM BORED!!! i told the wifey after (hopefully) some monster subdivision assembladges come through in a year or so expect some very expensive italian iron in the driveway. i got the roll eyes... oh well, ill stick with the z and just back it into the garage.

You're nuts!! (But you already knew that)... The C6 Z06 looks wicked in black... The rear end looks great. Although, I agree that in any other colour than black I dont like the look of the rear or the front or the sides.

Besides, you are never gonna see the rear of that thing anyways. The only people who will see the backend of that thing will be the people racing with you and video-taping.. But, their perspective will be from far away so it wont look so big to them.

Relax, take a deep breath, and keep the C6 Z06 order in black!

 

At $65.8, the vette is a better plan and it has a smaller butt than the C5. If you go with the clk get the Kleemann sc instead of the HPS.

$65.8? I don't think it's going to be that cheap. I have heard upwards of $75k for the Z06. It will still be the best bargain for what you're getting. Has anyone else heard what MSRP will be (I may just go check the Vette Forums and edit this)?

 

yea its 65k. released pricing a month ago. and YES an F430 in bright red will be here in a couple years. i told my wife, "im italian!, id be stupid NOT to get one" ha ha ha, she dont care as long as the family stuff is paid up.

ive had a deposit for 8 months at a reputable dealer who is msrp only. as far as checking the vette forums they f ing suck. for the most part they are insecure a$$holes who cant tolerate ANY other car being mentiond as it is immediately banished to forum siberia. some or most vette jerkoff$ whose most prize possessions is a vette thinks it is gods own car while i seem to be cut from a different cloth. i remember being a younger fellow and being a fan of all rods, no biggie. but to talk about another car in the z06 forum you are committing blasphomy. they suck big donky di**, f em, jacka$$ losers... now wheres my grey pupon!!!

Yeah, couldn't get much outta the Z06 Forums. The only thing I saw was someone said it would be aroudn $72k fully loaded. Who knows, I'm guessing somewhere around mid-$70's.

 

Definitely the Z06 over look-a-like DTM. However, have you ever considered looking into a Noble like DerekFSU's new toy?

Personally, I love the hardware of the C6 Z06. I am positive they are either extremely underrated or severely detuned.

 

Base price is $65,800 including destination. There aren't many options for the Z06, but mine priced out to $71,xxx out the door with no trade in.

I too am reconsidering my Z06 purchase, not because I don't think it's a terrific car, I'm just unsure if it's the perfect car for me

We'll see, I have until Dec/Jan to really decide (that is when my car should be built).
